    I had a high need for a new file cabinet - the one I had was no longer suiting my needs, was of a cheap quality, and one of the drawers had broken. I did a bit of research on Amazon and came across this lovely specimen. After reading a few reviews I took the plunge and am incredibly happy with it.

    There was lots and lots of styrofoam in the packaging but it did it's job and there was no damage to the parts at all. Like others have mentioned in other reviews, I would *strongly* recommend using a *fully charged* power screwdriver. Some of the screws are hard to get started without that extra "oomph". While the assembly instructions are easy to follow, my power screwdriver ran out of juice halfway through the job, and it took me probably a half hour longer than it could have to finish. And oh yeah, like the video says, after inserting the drawers, be sure to press down on each corner until it is firmly in place.

    When all was said and done though, I was EXTREMELY happy with the end result. It looks clean, simple, and professional, and fit perfectly where I needed it to go. Yeah, sure it won't withstand a fire, etc. but it's solid enough for my home office needs.

    We bought this product for our office, and it was assembled to the best of our ability, however, was missing parts and we weren't able to put it together correctly. We have contacted the seller numerous times, sent photos, explaining the situation. We were sent a video, tried again and were still missing some of the pieces needed to correctly put this item together. We contacted the seller again and got the same message and same video. The cabinet has been sitting in our back office for six months and we have decided to drag the item to the dumpster since we have got little to no help from the seller. I would not recommend buying this item as it seems to be defective. To top it off the item was severely scratched when it came out of the box as well. Do not purchase this item.

    I don't normally write reviews but I want to share with others about this file cabinet. I had my serious doubts - and in full disclosure, it is no where near the sturdiness of Steelcase or Hon - but it is also a fraction of the price.
    I have been remodeling my home office (I am a bookkeeper) and had a large 42" 4 drawer Steelcase - I wanted to downsize it and gain some space. I looked at replacing it with a Hon or Steelcase because I wanted the same quality and I was SURE something you have to put together yourself and that cost so little in comparison would be a cheap piece of crap....LOL. Well, it is actually pretty nice. It will do the job I need it to do and will not fall apart.
    That said, the description says you can put 120# of weight on top of it. Maybe, maybe not, but I am not going to test that claim.
    It was relatively easy to put together, however, I have a husband that pretty much do anything along that line. I think for the average Joe (me) putting it together, it might be a bit more of a struggle.
    We got done and the drawers would not properly close all the way and would not stay closed....but we realized we missed the second half of one of the steps :) Which was using the key to flip the lock mechanisms. We did that, and BAM! Looks and works great.

    I think this is a good file cabinet for the money, but there are a couple things a buyer should know:

    1) The drawers go in very tight. They snap into place, and that's a good thing. But if you want to take it back out again, good luck. I tried, but was afraid of bending things out of shape to get them loose. Moving the cabinet later will mean moving it with the drawers in place.

    2) If you follow the instructions and fasten the cabinet to the wall before putting the drawers in place, you will probably never move the cabinet, because you won't be able to get the drawers out of the way to remove the wall anchor screw.

    I didn't follow the directions, because I was assembling the cabinet in a different room from where it would be placed, so I assumed I would anchor it later. Trouble is, when you put the top drawer in place, it's too late to put in the anchor bolt. I opted for an "L bracket" mounted on top of the cabinet. Not very pretty, but much more accessible if we ever want to move the cabinet. And an anchor is a must-have, especially if there are small children in the home, even though this cabinet will only let you open one drawer at a time.

    Don't misunderstand me though. I do think this is a very good file cabinet that should last us many years. It's made of thinner metal than a commercial grade cabinet, but once it's assembled, it's quite sturdy and it didn't cost over $1,000.
