We dug the old Fire Stick out of a drawer a few weeks back and began watching some of our favorite TV shows from years past on Prime. The original Fire Stick was slow to respond, slow to load, and had times where a network couldn't be found despite being 20 feet away from the wireless router. This new version has shown none of these problems.
The minimalist remote has enough buttons to perform most major operations within seconds... and the voice activation stuff is awesome (even if you don't connect it to Alexa for additional features). Setup was long and boring, but very user friendly. It kept me well-informed as the process progressed. Once set up, we've had no reason to change anything... so Ron Popeil would be happy that I could, "set it and forget it!"
Service has been spectacular. No buffering, high quality picture and sound, and a great selection of shows to watch for free, with rentals available if you're so inclined.
