5.0 out of 5 stars Simple Laptop

I just needed a small laptop to cast videos from it to the TV. Works well, even though I do not use it for much besides videos. Good quality in the screen, vids are clear. Haven't noticed it really get hot either. I purchased the white one, added a case and keyboard cover so it looks pretty

5.0 out of 5 stars Update is slow computer is fine
Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2024
Made the purchase to learn coding and start online college and based off plugging it in and sitting at the library my experience is that is will be entirely too slow to be able to handle anything I need it to. For something refurbished it is of excellent quality not a single scratch on the device all the keys work. I sure hope this thing isn’t a dud like all the other one star reviews say that this thing crashes and burns after 9 m to 1 year. If so this computer shouldn’t even be marketed. Downloaded python app fairly easily so I have high hopes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent for the Price
Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2024
It is decent for the price and it was supposed to be new. The speed is no issue. The size and the screen is ok for the price point I chose. It was easy to set up. It runs on all the up to date programs. It does sometimes turn off for no reason or be hard to turn on, so much so that I be thinking it's going to die and not come back on (but this I think is an HP issue not the seller). It came with a free year of Microsoft Suite which is a huge selling point. However, I have learned a lot over the last week ab buying products like this on Amazon. So if I have to buy another laptop from Amazon. I would buy the Amazon renewed premium since it has a 1yr warranty and comes with a check list of what was tested, battery life, etc.

1.0 out of 5 stars HP does not honor warranty
Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2024
I thought this was just the right PC for us. We don't need much, web browsing, some gaming, some MS Office work. Yesterday I saw that the laptop OS needed update so started it. Noticed it was taking some time so I just let it do its thing all day. Went to turn the laptop back on that evening, and got a flash from the monitor but nothing else. I knew it wasn't a power issue because the separate mouse (not included) was lit, indicating it was connected. Tried everything I could think of then went to HP website. HP tells me there's 15 days left on the warranty ("whew!") and gave me repair options (phone, chat, local warranty provider [Best Buy]). I chose to go to Best Buy. They worked on the laptop for about 25 minutes, and while I can't tell exactly what was done, I do know it was a series of keystrokes and a flash drive. Geek Squad hands the laptop back to me and tells me it's a hardware issue and not worth the cost of repair. I take the laptop back home and get in a chat with technical support. They have me do what appears to be the same steps Geek Squad did. Then they tell me I need an empty flash drive to reset/reinstall the BIOS. Now I'm not really that tech savvy, but I know enough to tell the technician that all the steps that they have had me do I already had done by Geek Squad, their authorized repair center. Tech tells me that without doing that last step with the empty flash drive they cannot determine that it is truly a hardware issue (really??!) and that they won't be able to give me a repair/replacement if I don't take that last step.

Sorry, HP, but you cannot convince me that the cost of a replacement laptop is worth more than the bad taste in my mouth, and my withering review (not only on Amazon, but to anyone who asks) of your inability to honor your very limited warranty. I can't imagine why you wouldn't send a replacement of a low-end laptop just to keep positive goodwill towards your customers. And it's why I strongly suggest anyone reading this review to search for a different unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great computer
Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2024
This is my second time buying this computer. I dropped the first one on its head and broke it in half. It was my fault and not an issue with the computer itself. If you drop it from a table height when it is open, it WILL Break. I went looking for a new one and found this one at a great price. The pink caught my eye and is pretty in person. Great size and weight for taking to work. A few things to note: in certain light, the keys are hard to see. I solved this by adding a silicone key cover and it worked beautifully. Secondly, computer this does not come with a SD card slot. I didn't know that when I bought it (again my fault) it was an easy solve and definitely cheaper than my broken that came with a SD card slot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, does the basics, battery doesnt hold charge well
Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2024
Cute and does what I need it to do. Its a bit slow, but I wasnt looking for speed...I wanted something that did the basics and had memory all for a bargain. My 1 complaint is the battery. Im used to my battery holding a full charge if the laptop sits unused a couple days. This one doesnt hold its charge very well. Dont get me wrong, it has a standard battery life when im using it.
