5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice yarn

I really like working with this yarn. I am using it to make a blanket and the colors are great! I would buy it again from Amazon since it is cheaper than my local craft store.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pretty, bright colors

I bought the pink punch color. The colors were so bright, and beautiful. I didn't use it for granny squares, and instead used it to make a blanket for my daughter. It is absolutely beautiful, and the pattern the colors made is perfect!

4.0 out of 5 stars Colors don;t match up all the time.
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2024
The various colors are not always matching. I've changed tension mostly by using either a larger or smaller crochet hook. Sometimes no matter what I do, it doesn't come out right. I think the person/machine who dyed this yarn didn't use any quality control. Some color sections are shorter or longer than they should be. This is supposed to be a continuous granny square!! I;m having to frog quite a but to just get it close to being right. It can be very frustrating, but I want to make a jacket and I'm determined to finish it. So far, I've done 19 squares and need about 40 more

5.0 out of 5 stars Could be challenging for beginners

I turned to amazon to purchase colorways of this yarn that my craft stores don't carry. It takes some practice to get the color rounds to end properly. Instead of redoing each round if there's extra color remaining, I find that slip stitching to the next space to use up remaining color works better than restarting or changing hook size or tension. I use a 5.5 mm hook and haven't had any problems getting my squares colors to line up. This yarn is more for experienced crocheters or someone with a lot of patience to learn how it works. Everyone has a different method to make it work up. I suggest viewing youtube videos for ideas. Each skein makes 15 squares. Good yarn for a travel bag since you only need one. After learning a method that works for you, it's pretty easy to use. The only drawback is color availability and the prices fluctuate wildly here on amazon.

I can't ever figure out how to get it to line up to be a granny square but the retro coloring is awesome. I really love the colors. It's soft and easy to work with.

I use crochet hook 5 instead of 5.5 and tweak it a tad. I have to sometimes slip stitch more but overall after the first two it’s really easy. Still better than knitting. Very cool idea. I wish I knew exact shades used in the yarn so I could add a joining round using one of the colors. I will def be ordering again.

3.0 out of 5 stars Embrace the chaos

Yarn quality is pretty good. Not a lot of splitting. Works up well. I'm only on the first skein so I don't know about knots. Yet. Colors are vibrant and as shown in photos. But there's a small amount of colors bleeding into lighter colors. As for this yarn making perfect granny squares, forget it. I used a hook size that was recommended. I started from the inside of the skein as recommended. I took it apart 3 times, and started over with: 1.a smaller hook 2. Looser tension and 3. Tighter tension. The color changes on this yarn are NOT distributed consistently so that perfect concentric color changes would result. It ain't happening. Look at the photos. I decided to embrace the chaos. It is what it is. Size of yarn is good. As for price. I remember super saver yarn for $2.50 so this don't impress me much.
