5.0 out of 5 stars A keeper even though it's a crowded market.

It seems that photo editing apps are a dime a dozen these days and most of them are barely tolerable in that they always seem to be missing a feature that you really need. Some of them, like Picsay Pro, are excellent achievements especiallly when considering the limitations of mobile devices, yet contain so many features crammed into a necessarily cludgy interface that you often don't know where to start. (I am not knocking that app because it truly is the kitchen sink of photo editing apps... I'm just saying it has a different place in this world than this particular app.)

This app shall remain on my device because it strikes a balance between the two that is flawless. It's not over crowded with features but the features that it has are the ones I will need the most-- and even though "streamlined" it doesn't feel like it's lacking anything that I might miss. It's also remarkably intuitive, easy to use, very smooth and quite powerful for a mobile application.

5 stars! This application was obviously written by skilled programmers and is extremely well designed!

BONUS: I checked, and there is absolutely no adware or spyware monkey business going on. Awesome!

1.0 out of 5 stars Crashes every damned time I try to open it on my Note 3!
Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2014
I've kept this app on my Note 3 for the last month (since I first got my new Note 3, and installed this app to it), and 90% of the time I've tried to open it, it's crashed. It crashed frequently when I used it on my Note 2, but it just didn't seem to crash quite this much, so for those of you using a device running the latest OS, beware; perhaps there's a conflict, or Photo Editor + hasn't been updated to work well with the latest Android software build, or the capability of the app just isn't there...

A photo editing app is only as good as its functionality, and if the damn thing won't even open, what's it really worth? Over it! Onto PicShop - Photo Editor (the $2.99 one with 1,000+ reviews, not the one by the opportunistic app developer that's trying to ride the coattails of the developer that actually put real work in).

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for Basic Photo Effects
Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2014
If this was always a free app I would give it 4 stars (an extra star for being free). But as a paid app it is just average in its features - not worse than other apps (many free) of its ilk & not better either. It is not what I'd consider a photo processing app like Ps Touch or Snapseed or even Handycam. It is more for those who want to simply overlay a limited number of colored filters and make very basic global adjustments to Brightness, Contrast, Focus & Sharpness, Vignette and feel like they are being artistic. You can Crop an image (from your Gallery or captured with your device's cam) and rotate or flip it (horizontally or vertically) too. For those who like to mess with images you can paint or add text (normal or fixed style memes). Once you have played with an image to your heart's content you can either Save or Delete it or Share it with others. Again, there are quite a few free apps that are comparable or a bit more robust. Shop around...

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to make beautiful works of art, lots of features, whats not to like?
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2013
I have been in the field of professional Web Design Graphic Design since 99' or so (give or take a few years), & use Adobe Photo Shop, & Dream Weaver to build my creations.

Every now and then a photo editing app will come along that will claim all sorts of promises, but hardly ever deliver any of them. With this application you can deliver beautiful photos with stunning effects without having any prior knowledge in Graphic Design. With multiple filters, effects, and layouts you can create endless combinations of beautiful imagery.

Most importantly, is it's simplicity for the user that has caught my eye. Most people don't have the time to sit down and spend hours a day learning graphics & digital art show. That is mostly the reason why I am rating this a 5 star.

NOTE: If after you have used this app & you still crave more design options, I suggest looking into an application called "PicsArtPro+ (paid version) to soothe go the craving artist in you. They have a free version but it doesn't even slighty compare to the paid version when it comes to features.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for serious photographers
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2013
There are many photo editing apps out there, and many of them mimic Instagram in that they degrade your phot's quality to look like a bad print from a 1970's camera. There are a few apps that can actually help you make a better photo, the best being Perfectly Clear, and the built-in photo editor on Samsung Galaxy phones and phablets, Advanced Photo Editor.

Photo Editor+ doesn't have enough settings for the controls that can actually enhance your photos. Once button adjusts light, but you have no inuput as to how much it adjusts. I've tried almost everything out there; this app can allow for some enhancements, but the majority of it's settings will only make your photo look worse. Perhaps you like Instagram, and if you do, that's your business, but you are still making your photos look worse.

Perfectly Clear is a tool for people who want to squeeze the best out of every photo. There are no gimmicks with it, it just works really well. Photo Editor+ is a toy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not just "comparable to Aviary", it IS Aviary!
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2013
Surely I'm not the only one who noticed the small "powered by Aviary" print in the lower right hand corner of the app's main screen? This is exactly like Aviary right down to the adjustment controls and features. I did an A/B with Aviary on my phone and even the filters have the same names.

The only difference is this doesn't feature any in-app purchases. It also is missing several other filters and effects that Aviary throws in for free. 99¢ seems like a lot to pay for something so limited, just to avoid the IAP boogeyman.

If you have access to the Play store, Aviary is a far better deal. It's always free, has more features and can be expanded if you're willing to pay for special effects. This does most of what Aviary does, but costs money if it's not a free app of the day. I can only recommend this if you're stuck with Amazon's app store and can't get Aviary. Everyone else should save their buck for something else.

Five stars for the smart processing and useful adjustment tools, deduct one star for costing money when the alternative is free.
