Connecting to this extender will make internet 8 times slower than connecting directly to the modem's WIFI, even though I put it in-between the computer and the modem. I thought that was weird so I took it apart.
At least part of the issue seems to be that two of the antenna are purely decorative (both of the side ones [see picture] ). There aren't even connections on the PCB for more than 2, so yeah, they likely just added the extra ones so it would look more sophisticated.
Straight to the E-waste scrap pile with this...
