Tenacious Tape is a full line of tough repair tapes to fix holes and rips in your outdoor gear. These 3x20 inch repair rolls are durable, weatherproof, and available in ripstop, plain weave nylon, or vinyl fabric that can be cut to the perfect size. Use it to fix rips and tears on technical and synthetic fabrics like your rain and snow outerwear, puffy jackets, tents, tarps, and more. When outdoor gear gets ripped or torn, Tenacious Tape will handle it – allowing you to stay outside longer.

Clean Area with Isopropyl Alcohol

Clean the repair area with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dirt or body oils that may prevent a good bond. Trim any loose threads or feathers. No sewing skills or heat required!

Cut Tape to Size, Peel & Stick

Simply cut to size, round off corners to prevent tape from peeling. Peel off backing to apply it over the rip, tear, or hole. Patch should overlap tear by 0.5" (12 mm) all directions.

Press to Apply

Apply pressure from the center out. Smooth out any bubbles and ensure the edges lay flat. Wait at least 24 hours for Tenacious Tape to adhere properly before washing it.

My husband got a rip and his rubber boots that he uses for fishing. They said he said repair tape works great! It’s high-quality and waterproof. I recommend this.

Overall, I think this tape is a good value.

I used this tape to extend the life of a de-laminating rain jacket for a few more months. This repair didn't work that well as the jacket continued to de-laminate, lifting up the tape in the process.

I also used this tape to patch a hole in a thin, packable duffel bag. This repair has (so far) worked out better since there isn't anything lifting the tape up.

Seems to work well. The downfall is the application of the patch. You have to cut the patch to size, which creates sharp edges that don't "lay down" very well when it is applied. After the patch is fully adhered, if you run you fingers across the patch and catch the edges. I felt like the patch could easily be picked off or could potentially rip off with time. To mitigate this, I added some diluted silicone caulk on the edges and atop of the patch. After this "hack", the patch felt like a bump with no edges and I feel confident that this fix will last as long as my tent.

We have a Eureka Timberline 6 person tent. After using it ONE TIME in the crazy wind we somehow got a tiny hole in the fly. I purchased this repair tape to patch it. We've used the tent 5 times since and I can say the patch has held really well. We have not been heavily rained on with the patch but it look like it will do fine. We keep the tape with us incase we find any other holes or rips.

Tenacious tape is a critical part of my backpacking gear list. The tape is an absolute must have on any long distance hike. I recently completed the John Muir Trail. On the third day of the hike, my tent sack had a four inch rip near the top while stuffing in my tent. I remembered that I had the tape in my pack and gave the tape a try. The tape worked perfectly for the rest of the trip.

The tape is strong and durable. I highly recommend tenacious tape for your backpacking gear list and the tape can make solid repairs on gear at home. You won't need to pack the entire roll on a hike, just a small section. The tape cuts easily and you can even be creative on what type of tape design you want on your damaged gear. On a rain jacket you can cut a circle or even make a shape like a rain drop with the tape. The tape comes in different colors if that is important to you. The tape is not easy to remove once applied so think before you tape your gear.

When I first used this on a 20 foot inflatable Santa, I thought I'd hit the jackpot! It was easy to apply, the adhesive was super strong and it created the perfect patch. I had to use 1 1/2 rolls for a foot long rip, but I was over the moon ecstatic about finding something that actually did what it was supposed to do. And yes, it was technically 'waterproof' - just like most tapes, water (in the form of regular rain) slid right off it. However, my joy dissolved into disappointment when I had to deflate my Santa to save it from being destroyed in a thunderstorm: the patched area was submerged in a puddle of water for over 24 hours, and when I shook Santa out, about 75% of the tape had completely come off. What the heck!? Having to re-apply the tape after every submersion was not acceptable. However, I'm at least giving 3 stars because this stuff fixed the 1/2" tear to my down jacket beautifully so that's it's barely noticeable, which I'm grateful for - so clearly it's useful in my capacities, just not for repairs that are subjected to immersion in water.
