1st the cons.... If you hold it up to the light in certain ways, you can see some slight discrepancies in the finish. But you do have to look for them. For the most part, you will not notice them, so not really a problem. I am being picky. 2nd, the tuners are not as silky smooth as I might like, but well good enough to do the job. Again, being picky. They are perfectly serviceable, and for the price, just fine. 3rd. I'd like the lower bridge to be a little wider, opening the strings a bit. But that would be my preference. Again, picky. It is good enough the way it is. 4th, and the worst thing, is that the nut at the top is a bit high, making the string action too high and then a bit stiff and hard to play. A trip to Harbor Freight for some really fine files and a few minutes filing down the slots fixed that problem. That is called setting up the instrument, and that is not unusual even on an expensive instrument. Is it playable out of the box? Yes it is. I just wanted a bit lower action and the repair was simple enough.
Now for the pros: It does look good. Sounds good. the frets seem to be accurately spaced. Some complained that the ends of some of the frets were ragged, but on this instrument, they were nicely tapered, so no complaints there. The fretboard seems to be very flat. No buzzing strings, so that is good.
Some complained that there were position marks only on the face of the fretboard, but this one has them on the face as well as the side. Sometimes I feel that some reviews I read are for a different instrument.....
Another comment I read was that there was no way to attach a strap on some instruments. But this one came with strap mounts, and even a nicely colored strap. Cool! It comes with an electronic tuner, (which worked much better once I installed the supplied battery.....!) and some spare strings as well as a polishing cloth. And of course, a perfectly serviceable carrying case that has a side handle as well as back straps and a pouch for those strings, a capo if you want one, and spare picks (which it came with).
So the bottom line is, that this is a nice inexpensive 26" Ukulele that sounds good enough, plays easily, looks good, and comes with everything you need to keep it in tune and to play it. No directions, though. You need to get some chord charts and tuning charts if you are new to the instrument. Would I buy another one, or recommend it to a friend? Absolutely yes.
Just a note, keep the tuner in the case with the ukulele. It will not fit in the accessory pouch.

In my somewhat educated opinion the Hricane UK-21 ticks every box for build, product quality, sound and appearance!
The gig bag is outstanding quality to start with! Thick dense padding for protection, triple stitching, metal zippers all on water resistant nylon cordura material. This is one bag you won't have to replace when you get it. It also has back pack straps that will adjust to fit a larger adult like myself. The interior is nice brushed nylon with a Velcro attached neck support block. Just a quality piece you can actually GIG with!
The accessories pack comes in a velveteen pull string pouch with the 'Cme Hricane' logo screen printed on the front. Inside the pouch are goodies, including a spare set of strings, a really nice thick and larger size cleaning cloth, a service card and a very nice quality Cme Hricane branded capo..metal NOT plastic like a lot of others! So far, pretty impressive! Mind you, I haven't even removed the instrument from the protective foam bag at this point.
The uke is absolutely beautiful. The body has mutilayer ABS binding around the top and side junction and the back is also ABS bound in a single layer. Very elegant looking. Neck & frets are straight and smooth and the action is just a bit higher than I like, but an easy fix with some inexpensive luthier files. The instrument is pre-strung with Aquila super nylguts that some regards as the best. I don't care much for these strings and straight away changed them out to D'ADDARIO titaniums. Once the set up was tweaked and new strings installed and preliminary stretch was done, this SOPRANO uke sang like a song bird! Very hard to believe that this is not a solid top instrument. Projection, bass-yes, bass! And wonderful complexity that is usually only found on more expensive solid wood instruments! I am very impressed by the overall experience with this Ukulele!
This would (in my opinion) make a fabulous first instrument as well as a 21st! From raw beginner to dare I say pro, this is an amazing little uke!
I say get one!
