5.0 out of 5 stars Got to experience the N64 I missed out on years ago
Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2024
This was so much fun to finally get to have my own N64 I didn’t have growing up. The system arrived in excellent cosmetic shape. It was a Japanese system that had been physically modified to be able to play games from all regions (just grinding down some plastic nubs on either side of the cartridge slot). Came with power and AV cable as well as the jumper pack for the memory expansion slot. Note you will need to buy a system memory expansion pack if you want one. Controller was aftermarket but no difference to me from OEM. Worked perfectly out of the box. Much prefer buying from here than eBay or a flea market.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was expecting half busted and filthy, not clean and brand new looking!!!
Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2024
I was pleasantly surprised how clean and new looking this system looked! The only thing that would have been better is if it had the expansion pak installed :P The accompanying blue OEM controller was clean and the thumb stick was surprisingly tactile and no drift. I can't complain. *Update* some games crash and experience graphical / sound issues from time to time. Being a previous owner of a N64 console years ago I remembered the issues the cheap chinese knock off jumper packs had. I opened the hood and sure enough it had the knockoff and not the OEM jumper pak from Nintendo installed. These suck and are prone to issues such as what I'm experiencing. Thankfully I already ordered the OEM expansion pak. When it arrives I'll test my hypothesis that the issues I'm experiencing are due to the knockoff jumper pak. Stay tuned. *Update (2)* So I installed the OEM expansion pack and it fixed all the issues. Not sure why the seller removed the original jumper pack, but if anyone has the same issues check that it has an original jumper pak or preferably the expansion pak, The knockoff paks suck and cause it to randomly freeze.

4.0 out of 5 stars System works well

Works well, losing 1 star bc picture quality going from an old system to a new TV is horrible. I ended up having to go get an old TV from a tag sale to get a decent picture. When researching they say the older systems were lower resolution and some newer tvs can't upscale them properly. I went out and got an old TV, picture is much better. I would think that the seller may not we may needed additional attachments so that picture quality would be suitable. I wish I knew.

3.0 out of 5 stars Controller's Right Bumper is broken
Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2024
Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The N64 is in great condition, I bought five or six game cartridges for it on ebay and they all work great.

One issue, though, is the controller. All the buttons work as expected, aside from the right bumper. You know how a button normally has some rubber or soft plastic inside that allows it to spring back into place after you press it? This controller's right bumper is either missing that elasticity, or the rubber is too short, or something similar, because it is always slumped down lower than the opposite bumper and when you press it, let go, and press it again, it's all registered as one press. Games like Pokemon Stadium (specifically the "Dig! Dig! Dig!" mini-game) really suffer from this.

Not a bad purchase, I can always open up the controller myself to see what the problem is, or buy another controller. But two stars removed for that oversight.
