Nice enclosure, might need to enforce the feeding lid

I bought this to hold fragile decorations and figures. It works really well for this purpose. The biggest flaw is the feeding lid - opening it is awkward and difficult due to the handle (pictured). If they would change that, it'd be almost perfect. I imagine that it would be a good enclosure for small animals, as it's sturdy, durable, and fairly secure. Pushing the feeding lid up from the inside MIGHT be possible if your animal is super determined, so if you're using this as an enclosure, I would suggest putting something weighted on the feeding lid portion.

I ordered this habitat for my 8 year old son's Pill bug. The first one I ordered came cracked at the corner. It was still holding up, but would have leaked had we added water. When I contacted Amazon they sent me another one and told me to keep the broken one. The new one came in perfect condition, and my son has had an easy time opening and closing it. He has set up a nice home for his pill bug and has carried the crate around the house a lot. It is very sturdy and a great buy for the money.

One of these would be perfect for my Science classroom. They seem sturdy and quite nice. HOWEVER, they are packed in such a way that they will no arrive in a usable condition. They are carelessly thrown into a box, with a piece of packing paper thrown on top. The box arrives in perfect condition, but the contents are broken. The first one that I ordered arrived with one cracked corner. I requested a replacement. The replacement was packed the same way and it arrived with two broken corners and all scratched up. I can't seem to get a whole one shipped to me, so I'm giving up on them.

It was packed very well. Air pillows inside then 2 different layers of bubble wrap. In a sturdy box inside another box. No cracks whatsoever. Going to be using it to keep crickets in. Also I guess I didn’t pay attention to the size. It’s pretty big, so I’d say pretty good value too.

Perfect for what we needed it for

I homeschool. We used this for earthworms and for watching tackles turn into frogs! We even had an occasion where a bird flew into our window. We went out picked him up and put him in this container to bring him inside and warm him up. Happy to report that the bird was let loose within about 5 minutes. But what a fun experience to see a wild bird up close and one we'll never forget!

This serves the purpose of what I need it for, but it was disappointing to find that there was no lid on it, which I had read, but had forgotten when I finally placed the order. I also agree with other reviewers that the plastic is fairly thin. I’m using this as a temporary home for pregnant almost birthing or birthing guppies, so it’s not a long term holding tank, so I can live with these factors for the price. I however, personally wish that they would update the photo to not show a lid as I feel that that is very misleading.
