This book it written with a lots of information on preparing for retirement no matter how old or young you are. We think we know a lot, but in this book, there is a lot of information that will help you navigate the days, weeks, and years before that lovely retirement finally comes. And when it does come, there is lots of information on fun things that you can do, information on things you didn’t know you could do, and many new resources to start on an amazing journey in this next stage of your life. It’s an very enjoyable and easy read and has fun jokes at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have. It’s an excellent reference guide. Happy learning, happy reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of activities and encouragement to stay involved and grow in retirement

Great book for those in the midst of retirement, approaching retirement or just about any one who could use a jump start on creatively thinking about the many opportunities that are available to us for an abundant life. The first chapter hooked me as I was easily convinced that I too can create much improved photographs with all the tools available on my phone that I had never taken the time to explore. And instead of being overwhelmed by all my digital photos a little focused time and I will have photo albums worthy of sharing! This book encourages the reader to take steps out of his comfort zone and emphasizes the social or community benefits of many opportunities. The reader can refer to the book anytime he feels “stuck” and wants to move forward learning, meeting new people or getting motivated in other ways . Easy to read, well organized, encouraging.

4.0 out of 5 stars Embrace Retirement Adventure

Fun Things offers an interesting perspective on retirement living. The book breaks free from traditional stereotypes, presenting a comprehensive action plan tailored to ignite passion, foster exploration, and embrace fun—all while staying budget-friendly. From turning hobbies into soul-nourishing pursuits to practical tips for travel, social engagement, and maintaining well-being, it provides a roadmap for a fulfilling retirement lifestyle.

While the content excels, a few enhancements in graphics could elevate the experience further, bringing to life the vibrancy and excitement of retirement adventures depicted within the pages. With visually captivating illustrations and diagrams, the guide could better illustrate the diverse range of activities and strategies for a dynamic retirement, enhancing the reader's engagement and understanding. Additionally, a correction is needed under the section "Streamlining Daily Tasks": the app references is not "Out of Milk," but rather "Remember the Milk" (I know, I've used it).

Well, I was apprehensive to give-in to a retirement formula. This read transcends any of that. This book is a wonderful source of bountiful ideas and activities to keep the fun meter running on high. It is stocked with activities presented in short, relatable explanations. I picked up some awesomely creative ideas that I will certainly pursue. It's kind of hard to explain, but there is a "happy" vibe to this read and it makes the joy in getting started in retirement palpable. Just a wonderfully motivating and idea-packed resource.
This book, is the perfect, and I do mean "perfect" gift to give to a newly retired person.
