Keeps the fridge closed!

A while back my cat miscalculated a jump to the top of the fridge and grasped at the freezer as he fell before I caught him, opening it by himself. I'm always worried that the fridge isn't closed tightly and he might slip in, but seeing that he could accidentally open it made me want to take action. After looking a lots of products, I got this one. I will say that I didn't install it as perfectly as I could have, because once the fridge is closed, I have to push the door in another millimeter to get the bottom latch to fully extend on one of the locks, but it's a tiny inconvenience and I'm sure with the top latch still extended it would be enough to keep it closed if I didn't do that. So far it has held fast - it hasn't really been put to any kind of stress test except when I go to open the fridge and forgot the locking mechanism was activated (I usually keep it unlocked while I'm home), but I fortunately don't have any kids or pets that really try hard to get it open so for my use it has been very sturdy and works well.

Our new no frostb freezer had a slight gap that was causing a little frost inside. A few days after installing this at the level where the gap was the frosting went away. Easy to use as well.

Garage freezer has popped itself open and thawed everything. So, tried this hoping it would catch just by shutting the freezer door - to be idiot proof. We have to push hard on the door to get it to latch. But, then it works great. My kid did manage to rip it off once, before I taught them how to release it. So, it's not ideal for security, but works ok for just keeping the door from opening itself.

I like it but one side came off and I could use superglue and try again but just doing without, would be great if you need to lock young kids out of something.

Functioning with explanation

Ordered two (2) pieces, installed one on my “beer fridge “ works as expected, keeps door securely closed and is easily accessed .

Second one started out well securing the door, maintaining consistent temperature ( monitored multiple times daily) eventually was “pulled off” the door in attempt to open. Upon review, it appears the door area of adhesion was like too small for proper adhesion.
The failure of the product was high likely due to a mismatch of door surface area needed , rather than the product itself.
Highly recommend use … just confirm adequate area for the door adhesion for optimal functioning.
