I have a Shure P35 head worn condenser mic that I use often for solo gigs. I wanted something to have as a backup. This one gets good reviews and is less expensive (just a $10). The Shure is a condenser mic, this is dynamic. I play through a TC Helicon Perform VG, which provides phantom power, but I wanted something that didn't need phantom power, in case I wanted to go direct into my Bose Compact, which doesn't provide it. Also, the Shure is made for a wireless system, so it needs a transformer adapter to go straight XLR. This one is wired for XLR. But even running through the Perform VG (which gives a gain boost and some tonal help) , the sound on this was not at all comparable. Thin, tinny. Nothing I would ever use in a professional environment. Sounded like a toy. For the $40 difference (including the adapter), I'll just get another Shure.
