3.0 out of 5 stars Anime Studio misunderstood and yet has a following.

Anime Studio is not easy to use. That however does not make it a bad animation software. It is still better than Flash because it is made with animation in mind. This Debut version does not have the frame by frame feature. If you are familiar with 3D animation concepts than bone rigging won't be too perplexing for you. If you must have the frame by frame feature than I recommend the Pro version. This version is nice if money is tight and you can still do frame by frame animation. Just look up the tutorials on youtube. They'll show you how to do frame by frame without the frame by frame layer that is in the Pro version. As with any animation software knowing how to draw is essential if you want to create original artwork. If you are not confident in your drawing skills the character wizard is a fun feature to use and good for hobbyists. The Pro version is better if you want to do frame by frame animation and need more powerful tools at your disposal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent with some limitations

This is a good starter-intermediate program. Didn't much care for the lack of instructions for the features, but YouTube is full of them. Daughter loved and used it to self-teach until her needs for more complex tools led us to fade this one out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised!

To my surprise, it was much different than expected! I'm all for accidents and oopsies, considering this one upgraded me to Moho Debut 12! Thanks whoever packed the item! It is actually more complicated than I thought, but I've also been using Adobe CS3-6 so really, not really. Its a different interface but that's because it's a different company. I love the bone rigs, but I'm still trying to figure out the spacial aspects to make the puppet move right. This is why I didn't like rigging in 3D. I'll be happy to animate the puppet, just do the hard part first for me, please? thanks!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst software for animation!!!!!!

Bought this program under the impression that it would work with me nit against me. The eraser function doesn't work, lines auto adjust to to what the program determines is right. Even after you turn off all auto adjust setting. Does not allow for a completely creative experience do its need to control what is on the screen. Moving lines, random adjustments in line thickness. My suggestion is wait and purchase a better program that doesn't work against you with every stroke of your stylus. Worst animation software I've ever seen. Even the free ones allow me to animate at my lease, allowing me to draw and ERASE when I need to. Without adjusting everything to odd curvatures and idiotic line melding. If I could I'd give this product no stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just buy the pro version or save your money.

It's a great program to introduce oneself to animation and working with bones. However, if you are wanting to put anything online with a decent resolution look somewhere else. The max resolution you can get for your animations is 480p. Which is a joke by today's standards. You'll end up regretting this purchase, like I did. Spend the extra money to get the pro version or just download a free version like Synfig.

Bought for my 11 year old daughter...She loves it. She is able to watch tutorials to help her us the software but it is not too advanced that she is frustrated.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected...

I was excited once I ordered it, but when I discovered that this didn't have Frame by Frame, I felt like I was let down. I'm not necessarily a big fan of bone tool animation, and the fact that it cost about $60 more for the one with Frame by Frame makes me feel like I've been ripped off. If you're looking for this kind of animation software, but with frame by frame, look for the one that says "Pro" next to it. It'll cost more, but it's the only one between it and "Debut" with frame by frame.
