5.0 out of 5 stars A Jewel to Behold

I subscribe to this magazine and also, at times, attempt to be published by it. The writing is great. All authors published write with astounding professional style and their stories always resonate with depth and meaning. Published since 1949, each issue is well worth its read. I usually like the very first story the most. I also like the length of the stories. You may not have the time to read an entire book, yet want to finish a decent fantasy story. If so, you can check out one of the many novelettes or short stories within any issue, and you will be a happy man. Indeed. Hats off to C.C. Finlay for his continued success as an author and world famous editor. One of my favorite authors included within more than one publication of this serial is Mathew Hughes. Check him out on his "Archonate" website. All in all, this magazine presents some of my most favorite stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Always a Good Read

Kindle edition. I am always pleased when the new issue arrives. This publication is always a good read. There have been very few stories that I've abandoned. I also enjoy the non-fiction portions. I only wish that there was more in each issue or that it was published monthly. High quality F & SF.

5.0 out of 5 stars I bought my first copy of F& SF in 1958, in Norway, I was 14 then, I am 76 now, and I still love it!

When you read a magazine, there will always be some features that you like, and some you don't really care for. What I found, was a magazine that would print really good speculative fiction constantly, I have not read a single copy without finding some interesting, entertaining, shocking or just beautiful features. This high quality magazine comes highly recommended, If you know some great writers, you will sooner or later find stories by them in this magazine if F&SF is their genre. High quality is their trade mark I have almost 6000 books at home, and about 1/3 of them are F&SF. My brother's first magazine in English was a copy of F&SF. We traded books until he died last year. We both agreed in the high quality of F&SF.

4.0 out of 5 stars A classic source of great fiction

I have been reading F&SF since the early 70's, and even longer considering that i started by reading back issues i found in second hand bookstores (60's issues). Classic stories and issues over the years with so many memories. I subscribe to keep up with the latest authors, styles and themes. It's a treat when you come across a really memorable story that evokes that classic F&SF ambience. In general, I feel current authors and offerings are a little too affected by current social dilemmas. My message to the editors, the future will not be like the present, even if we ground ourselves in it. The future needs to be challenging, exciting and fundamentally hopeful for a flawed humanity.

I have been a SF fan as long as I can remember, I would get books from the school library and read them in my quiet place. Later as I grew older, I would buy the SF monthly journals and pocket books, as a sailor I would read a book heyday when underway. I look forward to the Fantasy & Science Fiction appearing on my reader, the writing is excellent with both novelettes and short stories ,cartoon and review of books, this is an excellent magazine well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Support Short Story Authors While Being Entertained

I wish I had more time to dedicate to reading my e-magazines. I subscribe to Fantasy & SF, Asimov’s, Intergalactic Medicine Show, and one or two others. They all have fantastic stories (all good, but some better than others), interesting artwork, and good articles/interviews. In a sense I’m glad I’m subscribed to the digital versions, otherwise I’d have boxes full of physical copies waiting to be read.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine
Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2015
The title says it all.

I used to Fantasy and Science Fiction all the time three decades ago, and for a long time afterward.

This issue is up to their usual standards, which is excellent. I was especially interested in this particular issue because I knew that there was a story in it by David Gerrold, which, it turns out is the highlight of the magazine this time.

But check how Amazon handles magazines depending on whether you have a subscription or buy a specific edition. They're different, and it's possible you might be disappointed in how it's handled if you don't choose the option you want.

I first subscribed to F&SF as a teen about 1960, and have been a subscriber pretty much ever since. There are good stories, some of which have an idea that stays with me. There are interesting columns and book reviews. Great magazine.
