5.0 out of 5 stars Unlock code is hidden

Update:

I found the code. It was stuck on the inside of the lid for the battery compartment. It should definitely be more obvious… I only found in a last ditch effort before buying sketchy unlocking software. The hotspot now works flawlessly. It bridges the gap for me in home internet for now and is lightning fast.

I purchased this device for use with a third party carrier. I selected this device specifically because it was described as unlocked. It is NOT. There is no unlock code or anything else included in the box aside from the battery and charger. It’s a shame too, the device is immaculate. There are no scratches or defects. This thing is in mint condition. This could have easily been a 5 star review. It’s otherwise useless.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT unlocked like the description says

The media could not be loaded.
So I ordered one of these because I read another review that said they could use a T-Mobile SIM card in it without any issues. And the description of the product says it is unlocked. That is not the case and at first I thought maybe it was a mistake so I exchanged it for another one. Even that one is also locked and it wants a unlock pin and I took it to the AT&T store and they said because it does not belong on an account with them they can't do any type of unlocking. So if you have an AT&T SIM card this will work for you because in the store they tested it with one of their SIM cards and it came up fine. As soon as you put in a T-Mobile SIM card it says the device is locked. I also tried a Verizon Sim out of curiosity and even though it says it's not supported, it actually gets further but still does not work because it wants you to enter the APN configuration. However, it refuses to save that. Plus the antennas might not support the frequencies that Verizon is on anyways. So this will be the second one going back but I'm unsure if I should exchange for a third one or just return it and shop for a different solution.

5.0 out of 5 stars great customer service and great router

Purchased the NETGEAR Nighthawk M6 5G WiFi 6 Mobile Hotspot Router (MR6110). Very easy to set up and easy to use. Initially had an issue with charging it up, wouldn't charge very fast and did not seem to hold the charge. Everything else worked really well, so contacted the seller. Received a prompt response, which was awesome. I explained the problem with charging and Seller sent a new battery within days of my inquiry. Installed the new battery and the router has worked like a dream since the swap. We live in a rural area and this router has made all the difference with speed and reliability. The router is renewed, which made me hesitate ordering. This particular seller has been absolutely amazing and really stands by their product. The fast response to my problem and quick and easy resolution to my issue shows that they are dedicated to great service as well as a great product. Would not hesitate to order from them again. Great router and exceptional service.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works after a bit of research

The hotspot was in great condition when unboxed and the delivery to the hotel we were staying at was right on time. I eventually got this device to work but there was no instruction as to the process.

What was in the box:
-The hotspot device: Netgear Nighthawk M6 (unlocked)
-USB-C to USB-A cable
-Unlock Code Sticker
-Power block - This was a basic 2.4A charging block which is not the original capacity charger. It will charge the device but cannot power the device as a fixed hotspot without the battery. You need to buy a Qualcomm QC3.0 charging block to achieve this. I had to buy these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0728HB18G?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

At first, I went to T-Mobile (my carrier) to get this situated. We tried a sim card, but it did not work (it is advertised as unlocked, but it is not yet). I eventually did some research and went back and purchased a prepaid, BYOD sim card with data for a hotspot.

What I learned is that you need to get the sim card, insert it into the device and you will see a pop-up that stated the device is locked and an option to unlock it. Key in the unlock code that was supplied and then the device configures itself to the T-Mobile network. I attached the unlock code sticker to the inside of the battery cover in case I ever need it again. T-Mobile was not able to assist me here and I had to learn this from research on the internet. Some of you already know how to do this but for all you first-timers, this is the process. As an extra step, I did download DC Unlocker to my PC to confirm that it was still in a locked status before performing this process.

After all of that I can confirm that this AT&T unlocked hotspot works quite well on T-Mobile. I am in a good 5G area, so I am connected with very good speeds. I did not run a speed test but confirm that I was able to run streaming on a TV using this hotspot. That is not the optimal thing to do as you burn through data but wanted to see if it could handle it.

I also ran this with the QC3.0 charger without a battery and it did run fine and at its high-performance level. The touch screen was sensitive enough and the web portal from Netgear was intuitive and easy to use. I was also able to tether the device to my laptop via the USB cord and it worked perfectly fine. I did not enable or try the ethernet port.

One other interesting thing with this device is that it has connectors for an external antenna for the times that you need extra signal pull from the towers.

Your mileage may vary when you but this device as it is refurbished, but my experience has been almost perfect with a couple of hiccups in getting this up and running and the fact that I had to spend an extra $13 to get a compatible charger. I paid around $80 for the device which is a deal compared to like $700 for an unlocked M6.

So, it is 4 stars because of the lack of instruction and the fact that the charger block was inadequate. It does say in the renewed accessories in the box will be equivalent as to when it was sold as new even if not the original, but it was not an equivalent charging block. Note: I did not reach out to the seller for support, I needed this to work immediately so I had to solve the issue myself.

Overall, it was a good buy.
