5.0 out of 5 stars WORTH every penny!

This is my 2nd Orbi system. I got the 1st when Wifi Mesh systems were just coming out. I tried a few others since Orbi was the most expensive at the time, but none seemed to work that well. (I have an old home with horsehair plaster walls & is approx. 4,000sq ft, and Xfinity barely gave me a signal 2 rooms away from the router!????????) As I started to research more trying to find one that would actually work for my needs, Orbi not only had the best range, it was the ONLY one that said it went through brick & concrete. NEVER once had an issue, it finally resolved my internet issues! The ONLY reason got another bc I needed an additional satellite to reach to my detached garage/shop where I run my home business, & I realized my original system was around 8 yrs old now. My original system is now discontinued, so I could only get a satellite used. For the price of the additional satellite for a discontinued model, it made more sense to spend another $150 & upgrade to a new Orbi system w/2 satellites. There’s a lot more options out now that are cheaper, but it wasn’t worth the risk for the distance I needed & to go through brick & old horsehair plaster walls. The Orbi has been amazing even after 8 yrs, so why chance anything else when I know what’s worked so great for my needs?! The Orbi was well worth every penny!! (The 1st system was over $700 for 1 router & 1 satellite) ZERO regrets since day 1 of buying the Orbi, it’s truly been a godsend!! ????????????????????❤️

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, easy set up

Set up was very straightforward. App is user friendly and no bugs. WiFi works without issue. Has not dropped since I got it. Impressed how well it works. Big improvement over conventional router set up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mesh system

Great mesh system with very good wifi range, coverage and speed, using with Starlink. setup is slightly slow and cumbersome because it's wanting to do updates. Once running app interface is fast and covers the basics, you can log on to web interface for full customization if needed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good speed, bad roaming

The speeds are decent but when I move my laptop around from one room to another and it tries to switch the connection from one satellite to another, it loses connection. This happens every single time with my MacBook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Orbi System

So far these are working Great. I have complete wireless coverage inside and outside my house now with wireless speeds around 400 Mbps down. I was previously getting approximately 70 down before. They we re very easy to set up, they did 1 update and I was up and running. Hardest part was getting all my wireless devices put onto to the new WiFi.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dissatisfied

I should have trusted other reviews. Best to look at another brand.
- Networking errors.
- Consistent connection issues. On main router and the satellites. WiFi and Ethernet …….
- More issues with gaming consoles and gaming devices.
- Satellites Stop connecting and need rebooting
- 3 factory resets in 4 months owning it.

- I do the family controls and how simple it is. That was the main reason I got it, but it’s too inconsistent with connections.

2.0 out of 5 stars This is just a load of frustration

While hardware may be ok the software and service that surround it are terrible. The app is laggy and slow. One second it makes you log in the other it suddenly remembers your login info. Very slow in accessing your lists. Satellites decide to deactivate once in a random while so you always have to check on them since there is no warnings set in the app notifications. Rebooting the router is somewhat of a chore since takes about 15-20 minutes to so so. Then loom out for attached devices since some of them may not reconnect automatically. Netgear is in business to sell you services and not hardware. All they care about is subscriptions for various services and extra layers of protection and for some reason incessant offers for newer hardware. I am not in business of collecting routers. Parental controls, which by the way is also a subscription, are a joke. They offer a rather basic web monitoring. The setting that allows you to control total time selected devices will have internet access is misleading. It simply does not work. When I tried to discuss the issue with support the person simply disappeared. Overall this is a rather poor setup for something that is a rather expensive piece of hardware.
