    I have never operated a chainsaw, just watched my dad and ex husband and theirs were gas saws. This is so easy to use! I am not cutting firewood for winter, just managing small trees to keep the pasture clear. Handles like a dream and I am not scared using it, like it would get away from me. Also, it is not as noisy as the gas saws. I am very pleased with my new chainsaw.

    I have the 18 and 36 volt makita chainsaws. The 18 works great but the 36 volt is amazing! Lots of very fast cuts between charges!!

    It is winter here in Iowa. We are in a new home, and our last home, I do not want to gasoline in my garage anymore. From time to time I do need a chainsaw. This seemed like a great option. After some initial difficulty with some miscommunication which led to me buying a refurbished saw, I received my new one.

    Amazon refunded my money, and I purchased a new one I have oiled it and let it run and everything seems to work good. I probably will not remember when I cut down my first small tree to update this comment, but as of today I am satisfied.

    Full disclosure: I am a Makita fanboy. I own many power tools from the 18v/36v line. I've never operated any chainsaw before, but was able to easily assemble the bar/chain/sprocket and get shredding. Once the chain oil was filled, this baby was ripping through all the annoying trees and stumps around my property. Really impressed and continue to thank my former self for choosing the Makita system.

    My ex-husband just received his makita chainsaw and loves it. The starter seems to work fine for him, and he said it was easy to use. he is very happy
