This is the bible of guitar songs. But do know that they let everyone contribute to the chords and tabs. It's a community and for the most part, awesome. But do read the notes from the community at the bottom of each submitted song. Don't learn the song later to learn that you learned it wrong. I will never, ever not own this site.

Review on the app - easy to use. WAY cheaper than a subscription to the website. You can buy a nice chord dictionary, tuner etc. if you want.

Review on the service. Ultimate Guitar Tabs has at least a million songs on it. The tabs are often of very high quality/fidelity but you have to have a current version of guitar tabs-pro to read them. In addition to the tabs, there are user supplied chord cheat sheets for the songs as well which is what I use. Sometimes I have to work a song a bit and might disagree with a chord or two but if you are trying to learn a song, it is way easier to start with someone else's work than do your own. Example - I wanted to learn "Fly me to the moon" by Frank Sinatra. There was a chord sheet for it. I changed one chord and was playing the song 10 minutes later. By contrast, I wanted to learn "9'O'clock" by Seth MacFarlane and there was no chord sheet. Took me 3-4 weeks picking out the chords before I got something together that sounded mostly right that I could play. Great resource!

The only complaint I have is I can't seem to keep the text big for my old eyes. I can pull it out but it goes back, it is better if the tablet is turned wide rather than tall. I like the scrolling feature and the songs are easy to find. It took me a day or so to find my way around and I couldn't find my favorites at first. I didn't know that you had to hit the back button. I'm surprised at some of the old or seldom heard songs available and that there are praise tunes too. I can usually find a version that sounds like what I have in mind. Not patient enough for the tabs, but it's nice they're there. I like that you can touch on the chord and it will illustrate what it looks like or that you can hit the simplify and it really gets easy. I'm not sure I like the automatic resubscribe, but if I'm this happy after a year, I won't mind.

1.0 out of 5 stars I would rather use the website.

This app is a good example as to why I hate that apps exist in the first place.

Everytime I go to Ultimate-Guitar.com I get an advertisement to get this stupid app.
Many websites do this. It's drives me absolutely bananas.
When you finally break down from the pressure to not get asked everytime you go get the stupid app.

Well, this app ain't free. The website is.

Then this app crashes and is slow. It also has a clunky, non-intuitive interface. I wish I could just go to the website.

They make a paid app for a free website that works worse than the website and even though I already paid money for the app, I use the website. but everytime I go to the website it prompts me to buy the stupid app (I already bought the app, leave me alone!). Then when I get past that. The website's poor mobile formatting forces me to scroll to the top everytime I scroll down.

I literally cannot use the website. The app is practically useless.

I would say that if you want to access Ultimate-Guitar you should just go to the website, but then you'll get advertised at.

My best advice is this: Just get on the computer. Sorry everyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars huge library, accurate tabs, compatibility issues may make this a no go for some

When i first purchased my kindle fire HDX I was given a large number of Amazon coins. I downloaded this app because I figured "it's technically free" It's the best money I neve spent on an app. The tab library is enormous. The range is truly impressive. I have added in my favorites everything from Johnny Cash to Dying Fetus. It's a great boon for people to dabble with songs, playing along with some favorites makes a nice break from practicing without abandoning your lessons. I am such a fan of this app I downloaded it to my phone as well. My only gripe is that it's sketchy on my kindle fire. It sometimes backs out of tabs. It's not a 100% crash. It also has some bugs while searching. Searching after searching it doesn't actually search. I find myself having to back out and reload the app. This is an issue for a pay app, but my kindle is old. The library and accuracy makes these mild inconveniences palatable.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing for a UG paid member
Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2023
I just downloaded this to my 2019 Fire 10 so I see my music better and not have to print everything out, but it has some serious deficiencies compared to the Android and web versions.

Though I am a paid member, Official tabs apparently aren't available.
There are Pro tabs, but they can be less accurate/complete/helpful.
You cannot transpose Pro tabs.
Since there are no Official tabs, you can't have standard notation.
I can't see my playlists, though since they are mainly Official tabs and most are transposed I guess it doesn't matter.
It's a very clunky interface.
I had to use my Amazon points to 'buy' the app, since the Amazon store doesn't acknowledge the Google Play store (the same issue I have with the Songbook app).

Now it does get some points:

The Pro tabs I tried scroll and include midi music. The Pro tabs are often 'less than' though (at least for this bassist).
Favorites are indeed available offline, and Pro tabs do scroll and play the midi music offline as well.
You can change the speed and vary how loud various instruments are in Pro tabs.
You have a few options for fonts for non-Pro music.

Overall this version of UG is a very mixed bag, and will not be helpful at jams and gigs.
