About this item
Ask her, boy. Ask her what she begged the stars for and what lives now. Ask her what she ripped from the very heavens. And then ask her if she cares. The old blood runs through her veins.
Nismera and her legions rule the realms as Samkiel’s power fills the sky. With him gone, she strives to solidify her spot on the throne, no matter the cost.
Dianna struggles beneath the weight of half-truths, lies, and deceptions. After overcoming what she thought was her hardest battle, she soon learns she is at risk of losing everything.
Samkiel strives to heal, but he has more on his plate than ever before. The Hand is dismantled, the realms are in turmoil, and the one person he can trust keeps him at arm’s length. Can the two work out their differences, or will they both fall to the blade of the Goddess of War?
The one true king returns, but is it the king or queen who shall rule them all?

Amber……you’re one of the most unhinged authors I know. You’re an absolute wildcard and I love your brain.
Unlikely allies, emotional confessions, high stakes, this book has it all! How can one book contain so much fun, quips, betrayal and heartache?
I cannot emphasise enough how much I love Dianna and her unhinged tendency for violence. She’s the embodiment of “it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission.”
I can barely put my thoughts to paper…that last line!
Where do I even begin with The Dawn of the Cursed Queen?! It was an absolutely amazing addition to the already fantastic Gods & Monsters series, and I ate it up...twice. I've loved seeing the character arcs of not just Dianna and Samkiel, but of Kaden, Camilla, and Cameron as well. The additional POVs of Isaiah and Mere were phenomenal, and I can't help but feel for both Kaden, Samkiel, and Isaiah. I'm curious to see how their relationship will play out and how Kaden and Isaiah will be incorporated into Dianna's family.
The plot has absolutley thickened with a few ends tying up, but, of course, Amber opened-up a whole new set of 'bad guys' and plot points at the end of this book. Nysmera isn't the biggest bad around and I absolutely shivered at the end of this book in anticipation for what's to come. I was happy that there was finally *some* happiness woven in for our mains, even if its a bit short-lived and more of a reprieve from the crap-storm that is inevitably coming their way.
Amber's writing ability, character development, and plotting has only gotten better with each book, and this installment is no exception. I was on the edge of my seat throughout, devouring each chapter long into the night because I simply couldn't put it down. I laughed, I cried, I raged, I swooned, I cried some more. The ability to take readers on an emotional rollercoaster while not losing sight of the plot AND continuing to drive character development is incredible. There is not one character's POV that I go 'eh' over, and I love that she makes you empathize with the 'bad guys.' Pretty sure I'm in love with Isaiah... There were SO many twists and turns, so many secrets, and so many new plots opened-up, especially at the end, that I cannot wait to see how the story progresses.
I cannot wait for more from this series and from Amber.
The world building in this book was fantastic. Now that the realms are all open you get to see so many more worlds through the eyes of new characters as well as a couple villains. Miska is one of my new favorites and I just can't wait to see where her story grows and develops because I just know she has to be extremely important. One thing I am not looking forward to is my cracking Armour towards a couple of people namely Kaden and Vincent. I do not want to care for them! Ugh!
This book is full of action and will keep you on the edge of your seat and tips of your toes. Those last 100 pages are a wild ride so buckle up. I'm pretty sure I have never screamed so much at a book or pounded my fist into my bed as much as I did with this story. Out of all her books so far book 3s cliffhanger may be the tamest so I'm glad I wasn't left in such a complete mess and cannot wait for the next book to see what happens next. I highly recommend reading this whole series.
I know it’s not saying much about it but … wow!!! This book left me absolutely speechless and breathless. Since the first time I got into the Gods and Monsters universe, I knew, if I wasn’t putting attention to it, it would have completely overwhelmed me. And it did. In the best possible way!!! This world and this characters are now my undying obsession and there is nothing moving them from that position. The thing about this third book is that it was able to encompass and unite every single emotion and feeling that we had in the previous too, while adding a constant state on anxiety in the mix, because we have no idea what the next step will be. And after the way we left off in book two … the feelings were a lot. As per usual in this series, also this time around I cried a lot. I felt a lot of pain. I felt a lot of joy. I felt a lot of sadness and frustration and anger and nervousness and lust and love. I was giggling and kicking my feet one chapter because of how Samkiel is (because I love him, he is such a cutie pie) and feel hot and bothered (because Samkiel and Dianna really didn’t waste time) and overwhelmed by sadness and sobbing like an idiot the next (can’t give you context for it, let’s just say that the Hand gave me a lot of sadness, iykyk)!! Basically I didn’t know what to do with myself most of the time. And considering the way the book ended, as I’m writing this, I’m still processing the information.
Of course, the action was great and engaging (even though terrifying), and the love scenes (because they were a lot, thankfully) were absolutely GREAT !!!
There is no one part of me that doesn’t feel absolutely incredibly grateful and thankful for the opportunity to read this book and for the opportunity to be part of this journey with the author. I’m so terribly excited for the future and I can’t wait to reread all the books in the series !!
