5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT TODDLER TABLET for the price!
Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2024
Keeps my busy body 2YO Twins engaged despite them not being tablet babies at all. The size is perfect for their tiny hands. It operates well- not lightning fast but adequate for toddlers. The words and apps are the perfect size for them to touch and see. I paid for Amazon kids subscriptions and I’m able to monitor with parents dashboard- I can even set the volume to not be too loud..even if they turn it up ⬆️ it will automatically return to what I set, it has educational and entertaining apps- perfect balance. It maintains the Bluetooth & Wi-Fi connection exceptionally. The only downside is that I can’t prevent them from changing certain settings like the brightness or turning off the Wi-Fi or switching profiles- which is annoying but for what I paid- value for money and we’ll get over that learning curve. I can see it lasting for a good while.

TLDR:
✅Rugged case
✅Strong parental controls
✅GREAT long lasting battery life
✅Vibrant screen

❌ Sluggish performance
❌ Limited app selection

The Amazon Fire Tablet for Kids is fantastic! From the moment we got it, it’s been a hit in our household. The kid-proof case is a lifesaver—durable and designed to withstand drops and spills. The tablet's display is bright and clear, making it perfect for both educational apps and entertaining games. The parental controls are incredibly user-friendly, allowing us to set screen time limits and manage content easily. Plus, the included 1-year subscription to Amazon Kids+ offers a huge library of age-appropriate books, games, and videos. It’s been a great tool for both learning and fun, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. Highly recommend it for any parent looking for a reliable and engaging tablet for their child!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good But Very Slow

This is a perfect Tablet for a toddler. Small, easy to hold, durable. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend it for much older than five because it’s extremely slow. Before it arrives you have the option to “setup” so then you can - as it states “just hand it to them from the box.” This is not accurate and I’m glad I figured that and did not show my toddler when it arrived. You 100 percent have to set it up. And if you purchased for Disney+ usage like I did please note that in itself takes time to download and setup. While the set up is not more than 20-30 minutes that is a long time to a little kid if you have already showed them. So please do not think you can hand it to them straight out of the box like it is stated on “early setup,” you cannot. The only thing that is ready upon arrival is that it 85 percent charged. Other than that, the screen is beautiful, not big but perfect for a little one. You can set a time for it to lock/shut off and you can add apps you want them to use and delete those you do not. I recommend this product.

I bought this for road trip for my 2 year old and immediately we fell on love. It has an amazing rubber case that prevents damage when he drops it. It also comes equipped with tons of kid friends, educational games and shows. The battery life is probably the best part in my opinion. Os small enough for my 2 year old to carry around himself but large enough to be able to see hos games and shows.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Young Kids

I absolutely love the Amazon Fire tablets for my young boys. We got the first when my oldest was just shy of 1 year old and they are still a hit at 3. He didn’t really get to play with it much, but it gave us an option to distract him with music videos when dining out, on aircraft, or while driving long distances. Much better option than handing a toddler my cell phone!

The content from Amazon kids is pretty solid, my sons love the phonics games, the song videos, and the suggestions that populate. Unfortunately there are some restrictions to the amount that can be downloaded both based on internal storage (fixed by a SD card) and an Amazon limit. Not a show stopper, just means that I have to be proactive with managing downloaded content when we know we will be off WiFi.

I’ve included a picture of our Fire 10 and our Fire 7 for a size comparison. We like to use the 10 while at home or on trips where packing isn’t an option and we use the 7 for our boys when we are traveling via aircraft or dining out. Highly recommend these tablets!

My daughter has had this tablet for a while now. The parental controls are awesome. You can download Netflix and other streaming apps on it. The foam case it comes in is great. She has thrown it and dropped it quite a few times and I don't think the screen even has a scratch on it. She also fully submerged it in water at one point, I pulled it out immediately. Took off the case. It was still powered on and the screen was flashing a little bit. Left it in rice over night and it still works flawlessly. Highly reccomend.
