Surprisingly good, robust and flexible guitar!

First the pros:
Well made, sturdy, compact, looks nice (if you like Les Paul shape guitars), very light, stays in tune extremely well, excellent my materials (carbon fiber), nice thin D shaped neck, great price (got mine on sale, around half retail), comes with a gig-bag and strap, sounds really good, and to my surprise, it has a feature I never imagined. I detuned mine a bit to try playing more lead on it and found that I could detune ALL the strings down 7 half-steps (E>A, etc) and it even works as a baritone detuned a whole step! It just might even go down a whole octave, I'm at 7 half steps so far. This is a blast to play and get some seriously dark and even sinister chords with or play bass. I'm no "chugger" but I am now, haha! This little thing can do that too. I cheaped out and bought one without pickup, so I will need to add one or mic it. In hindsight, I should have gotten one with a pickup, but I can add one.
On the down side, I'm not finding anything I really don't like. I guess it could have better tuners, but these seem to work fine. Bone saddle and nut? No, but it has a zero fret for moderate action.
Summary, amazing for the retail price and a serious no brainer on sale. I would definitely buy it again and highly recommend it for a knock around guitar or for kids or anyone. Quite versatile, robust, looks and sounds great, and it's great fun and affordable. Thank you Enya! Sail Away!

This guitar should not sound this GOOD!

I saw a YouTube video about this guitar. The reviewer is a down-to-earth guy, who is pretty blunt in his reviews. He liked it and that put the bee in my bonnet. Amazon ran a sale on it, so I had to try.

The body is small, but the neck feels like that of a full-sized guitar. Honestly, I was wondering if would be like trying to play a mandolin, but it's like a regular guitar. The sound is full. For a small, relatively thin guitar, it has a rich bass response and the sound is balanced. I've got some pretty serious acoustic guitars. This may not be in that league, but it's surprisingly good and better than some of my mid-range guitars that I would actually take out of the house.

The carbon fiber is pretty thick and feels durable. There's a lot of tone wood, bracing, grading of the spruce top, et al talk about acoustic guitars, but this thing sounds good. There are graphite and other carbon fiber guitars on the market, but at multiples of the cost of this guitar.

I love the look. Enya calls the color "blue," but as the photos show, it's more aqua or sea foam green—a PLUS in my book. The neck shape is comfortable to play. The neck had just the right amount of relief for no buzzing. You get a tool for adjusting the neck in case it needs help in the future.

The on-board effects are OK. It is cool the have reverb and other effects come out of a guitar that is not plugged in. I have played it thru' a guitar amp, but not thru' a PA. I downloaded the app and got it to pair with my phone thru' Bluetooth, but haven't experimented with it very much.

The action is playable, but I'd like it a little lower. Time to sand the bridge saddle, but I haven't done it yet. The case is different from what a lot of YouTube reviewers show. It's a soft shell gig bag with an eternal pocket. Instead of a single strap that could be removed and used as a guitar strap with included adapters, it's got two sewn-on straps for classic backpack carry. This case was aroma-free. Some reviewers said their cases reeked. The manual says it comes with a leather strap. I got a woven one in a pukey color that isn't going on my aqua blue guitar. They are wise enough to add "subject to change" when listing the accessories.

I was intrigued by the innovations that this guitar offered. I also got it for its size, weight and durability as a travel guitar. It has not disappointed in any of these areas. But it is the sound that is truly amazing from this little powerhouse. I certainly didn't need another guitar, but I'm glad I got this one. It's useful and unique.

I picked this up on sale more or less out of curiosity. I have a number of acoustic guitars but they are all larger, mostly full-sized dreadnoughts, and all made of wood. I figured it would be nice to have a travel guitar that I don't have to be precious about (I used to have a Taylor GS Mini but I wound up selling it because it was too nice for my intended purpose).

So, as far as this goes, here's my take: Don't have unrealistic expectations about what it is and isn't and I think most people will be well-satisfied with its value and utility. It does look and feel a little like a toy--the body is so small that it suffers from just a little bit of what the Martin Backpacker suffers from in form factor: It does not sit that comfortably in the lap in playing position, at least not without a strap. The body feels very plastic-y but with a pretty smooth texture, and the neck feels pretty much the same since it's the same stuff. It doesn't bother me much but it definitely feels like you're interacting with plastic and not wood. For me personally the neck shape doesn't feel super comfortable but that's a personal preference thing--for some I'm sure it would feel great. Even traditional acoustics are usually pretty light, and this is lighter--the material is light and there's not that much of it.

As far as the sound, it is louder than you might expect for something so small, but don't expect it to compare with a full-size or even like a parlor size guitar. It sounds boxy because it's a little box, but that's just the laws of physics at work. It sounds much fuller than something like a Backpacker or like an unplugged semihollow electric or acoustasonic.

Overall I think in sound and playability it compares favorably with low-end entry-level acoustics (think Rogue dreadnoughts--it won't have the low end of a bigger body, but it's surprisingly loud considering how tiny and light it is. Playability is much better than those if the cramped size doesn't bother you--the frets, nut (well, string guide in this case), saddle, etc, are much better than other low-end acoustics as they are a more integral part of the design and not slapped together.

If it does keep itself together the way a "real" carbon fiber guitar would, it should be much less at the mercy of temperature and humidity than a wood guitar, so I'm hoping what is a good value and a pretty good beater/travel guitar will really stand out in value if it can be abused and resist the elements (ie, be left in a hot or cold car without self-destructing).

All in all, if you don't expect it to sound like a full-sized guitar and aren't bothered by the plastic-y feel or the mild awkwardness of the small body, it seems like a great couch or travel guitar and maybe a great starter guitar (the only caveat I'd have to giving it to a beginner is how it doesn't love sitting in a lap, but if the student is small enough that might actually be a benefit and it'll fit them better).
