About this item
From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a new STANDALONE dark romance about a villain and his new obsession.
I caught the attention of a monster.
I didn’t ask for it.
Didn’t even see it coming.
But the moment I do, it’s too late.
Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm.
He’s cold-blooded, manipulative, and savage.
The worst part is that no one sees his devil side.
I do.
And that will cost me everything.
I run, but the thing about monsters?
They always chase.
This book is a dark unconventional romance and contains themes that aren't to everyone's liking. Please check the author's note for content warnings before reading.

What a rollercoaster!! I can not explain how much I loved this book. The complexity of the mmc and his relationship with the fmc was written so well. I loved how dark and steamy this was but also it has a great story line and was very captivating.

Killian Carson is wicked and in the best way possible. The opening of this book on the cliff had me questioning my judgement on reading it, but it was so worth it. I loved the plot twists and didn't know where any of the story was going. Loved the ride! I'll be reading the entire Legacy of Gods series.

My First Ever Dark Romance

Let me tell you this: I never realized the kind of fantasies I unlocked until reading this. Rina’s writing is effortless, seamless, timeless. Her depiction of the characters are vivid and mesmerizing.
The only thing I was slightly uncomfortable with was the ages. That’s a me problem, since I’m in my 40s lol.
I would recommend this novel to anyone who has no fear of triggers and who wants to delve into the world of something different.

True villain gets the girl.

Okay, I loveeeee a dark romance. I root for the villain, morally grey, anti-hero, whatever you want to call it 100% of the time. But, the first few chapters I wasn’t sure exactly what I was getting into. It’s extremely dark, violent and very much so rides the line between consensual and non consensual. BUT, I finished it. I had to know more about Killian. And yes, he’s a certified nut job but, he also has a heart. And it hooks me in every time. I love how one person can completely change another’s life. The way they view everything, life and love. The obsession gives me all the butterflies. I loved this book and I don’t care what anyone says lol! It even has a HEA so it really did meet all of my expectations. A villain and a happily ever after? Yes please!

I am having such a hard time rating this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (3.5)
????️????️????️.5 (3.5)
Honestly I give the concept and actual story a 4.0 if not a bit higher. I think it’s really interesting to see such mentally diverse characters. My issue with the book was actually the authors writing, but again I’m so torn because I actually really liked the story. To anyone contemplating reading it, do it, BUT.. the trigger warnings are very accurate. As an example, if you read Haunting Adeline and didn’t like it.. I can almost guarantee this book isn’t for you. I’m like 80% sure.

Again, liked the story a lot. Very different from anything I have ever read. Loved the side characters focus and the early build into relationships that will obviously turn into their own books. I imagine I will continue to enjoy this series as I get to know the characters more and more before I read their actual books. I also liked bringing the parents POV into the mix, although I didn’t realize until a quarter of the way through this series is about the children of characters in a previous series. I may backtrack and read those first as this book contains small spoilers of those. Also actually liked the way the author seemed to stay true to who Killian was and how he works. We didn’t get some huge romanticized version of him and I’m happy about that as it would have felt fake otherwise. Spice was actually pretty good but I only gave it a 3.5 due to it being open door and mostly just rough. It wasn’t the most descriptive which is what I personally prefer, so I gotta save my 4.0-5.0’s. No issues with this spice though. I felt it was pretty fitting for the characters.
Dislikes:
Okay. The writing in general seemed clunky to me. The author seemed to want to use classic “teen” language, using words like “totally” and “like”, to the point I felt like I was reading a 16 year olds diary, and some British phrases and cursing seemed forced like she went back and added them because she thought that’s what a British person or 19 year old would say. There were also quite a few typos, like you’re instead of your or the blatant misspelling of the word ill-fated. To be even more picky, she used the phrase “in retrospect” 5 times in the book and I’m pretty sure about half those times didn’t actually use the phrase correctly. Character wise I think she was almost could have gone deeper with Glyndons character. I feel like I never really was invested in her as a person the way I was with Killian or even Cecily or Anni.
I will continue this series and may backtrack to the parents series. This book does say stand-alone but I think a little heads up that I should have really started with the 7?? Book prequel would have been nice like she does for the other books in the Gods series.

As sick and twisted as Killian is, he draws you in and you can’t help but root for him. The book got a little repetitive with what he’d say it the steamy scenes but did like how she came out of her shell and gained confidence with him. She never backed down even in situations where she could’ve. I enjoyed her cousins and the other heathens.
I liked this one more than I expected to. I’d say a 3 for spice due to repetitiveness—though there are many many spicy scenes.

Glyndon caught the eye of a monster, but not just any monster. We're talking about Killian Carson, predator extraordinaire, wrapped in a sophisticated package that would make James Bond jealous.
From the moment you meet Killian, you know you're in trouble. He's the kind of guy who makes your pulse race for all the wrong reasons: cold-blooded, manipulative, and as savage as they come. And while everyone else sees a charming, refined gentleman, you know better. You see the devil lurking just beneath that polished surface.
And let's not forget the chase. Oh, the chase! When you think you can outrun him, think again. Monsters like Killian? They always catch up. It's a heart-pounding cat-and-mouse game that keeps you on the edge of your seat, desperate to know what happens next.
In short, if you're a fan of dark romance with a dash of danger and intrigue, God of Malice is your next must-read. Just don't say I didn't warn you. This one is not for the faint of heart. Prepare yourself for a seductive, sinister journey where love and malice are two sides of the same coin.
