5.0 out of 5 stars I need a sequel!

OMG OMG OMG

Ok now that I've come down I can write my review. It's absolutely amazing! Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Space, mysteries, secrets, some spicy sex scenes, and plot twists - what's not to love about this? However, I NEED MORE OF THIS STORY! The end leaves one with a lot of questions and I feel like this adventure isn't over.. omg but I need more!! I hope both of the authors decide to write a sequel because I absolutely neeeeeeeeed one!

The sun is dying, and the only hope of survival is a sphere on a space station. The sphere is an alien artifact and could be the answer to stop the sun from dying. But not everyone wants this mission to succeed and the space station gets blown up. Only a few survive and find themselves on an ancient space ship. The survivors, which includes a princess, a high priestess and her guard, an escaped rebel prisoner, a confederate soldier, and 2 mercenaries are far from home but as they are able to escape the explosion, they need to figure out what is going on and who they can trust. Can they trust each other? And everyone seems to have a different mission in mind. And with everyone in the galaxy looking for them, they figure out that they need to work together in order to survive, to trust each other and maybe, just maybe to be able to save everyone in the galaxy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Space Saga Meets Misfit Gang
Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2023
This is a thickum folks and I was not prepared for how quick it went! I've seen this noted as having Breakfast Club vibes and I gotta admit its pretty darn close. A misfit crew ends up on an alien artifact ship running for their lives. Chosen ones, princesses, inmates and more make up this ragtag gang. It is SO easy to love each character and their individual differences and flaws. There is a decent amount of inner monologuing and I did feel it could have been slightly shorter but I was also kinda sad when it ended. I know.. I know.. Eye roll at us readers. I just can't deny how fun a ride this was.

The chemistry was totally my jam. It's not overloaded but when the scenes start steaming, its done with a lot of yum. I loved that it's a mixed bag in the relationship department too. The sapphic and the vanilla were both equally so hot. There are also some very interesting plot twists that I did not see coming and one in particular I'm still debating my feelings on. This book kept me on my toes.

I definitely enjoyed this one and that cliffhanger already has book two on my radar. If you are a fan of action packed sci-fi space adventures with well crafted characters, well done political structures, world building, chemistry and characters than ... Yup... You know this is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of My Top 2023 Reads
Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2023
This book kept me up past my bedtime not once, but twice. I was totally consumed by the story.
It has everything you could possibly want in a story.
-Action
-Romance
-Political intrigue
-Amazing sci-if elements
-Forced proximity
-Found family
-Enemies to lovers
-Grumpy/sunshine
And so much more.

But the thing that captured my attention even more than the story was this ragtag group of characters.
“A princess, a prisoner, a con artist, a warrior, a priestess, a mercenary, and an a**hole in charge of us all.”

-The Princess, Kalinda: Kalinda is relatable for anyone who grew up sheltered and was suddenly thrust into the real world. Her character growth is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her becoming who she was meant to be.
-The prisoner, Beckett: Beckett had a really rough go of things through most of the story. It was so sweet to see her try to open up and become part of the group, as well as open herself up to love.
-The con artist, Gage: He felt like comic relief a lot of the time. I enjoyed his character and the goofy things he got into.
-The warrior, Merrick: Merrick is like the grumpy uncle of the group. I absolutely loved him. The way he protected everyone throughout the story made me love him even more.
-The priestess, Rain: Rain was the absolute cutest. She was a little bundle of sunshine and her enthusiasm for being out in the world (after staying at a monastery her whole life) was infectious.
-The mercenary, Max: Max was the voice of reason for a lot of the characters and the friendly face they could all count on when things were tough.
-The a**hole and captain of this little adventure, Ian: Ian was exactly what you would want in a morally grey, tall, dark, and handsome kind of character. He was fiercely protective of the people he loved and eventually even had a soft spot for his new friends.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent read

I like the characters especially Rain. The book has great potential. The authors could do better at propelling the story along, 100 chapters and not a lot of questions answered. Also would have loved if there was better descriptions of this new exciting universe.
