5.0 out of 5 stars The "Go To" paint for sneakers!

I recently had the pleasure of using Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint in Black, and I must say it exceeded my expectations on every level. As someone who enjoys leather crafting and restoration projects, finding a reliable and high-quality paint is crucial, and Angelus truly delivers.

First and foremost, the color saturation is exceptional. The black hue is deep, rich, and consistent, providing a professional and polished finish to my leather items. Whether I was touching up scuffs on my favorite leather boots or giving new life to an old handbag, the Angelus paint ensured a flawless, true black result.

The versatility of this paint is truly commendable. It adheres well to various leather surfaces, allowing for a broad range of applications. I appreciated its ability to cover both smooth and textured leather without compromising the final appearance. The paint also dries relatively quickly, making the process efficient and hassle-free.

Durability is a standout feature of Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint. Once applied and allowed to properly set, the paint forms a resilient and flexible coat that stands up well to everyday use. I've noticed minimal cracking or peeling, even on frequently worn items, attesting to the longevity of this product.

The ease of application is another highlight. The paint has a smooth consistency that makes it easy to work with, whether you're brushing, sponging, or airbrushing. Cleanup is a breeze, and the paint is water-based, which is not only convenient but also environmentally friendly.

One thing to note is that adequate surface preparation is key for optimal results. Ensuring the leather is clean and free of oils or waxes enhances the paint's adhesion and longevity.

In conclusion, Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint in Black has become a staple in my leather crafting arsenal. Its superior color quality, versatility, durability, and user-friendly application make it a top choice for both beginners and seasoned leather enthusiasts. If you're looking to breathe new life into your leather goods with a reliable and vibrant black color, Angelus is the way to go.

I wish I would have known to take "before/after" photos. I gave my favorite pair of tennis shoes, a new life with this paint. The pigment is rich and it lasts a long time. I have also used it to touch up a beloved purse of mine. It is easy to use and mine included a brush (connected to the cap).

2nd photo was lightened with white
Worked well. Then used glitterites in white sugar, but didn't go on so well. Seemed blotchy. Added high gloss topcoat at end.

I honestly did not know paint like this existed until recently. I was debating if I wanted to sink the cost of buying a whole new couch cuz the brown wasn't going to fit my room's makeover but my mind was blown when I found out I could just... Paint it a new color. It goes on very easily with a foam roller, and the roller is reusable between coats as the paint stays soft and slightly elastic when dried. Does take a couple of coats to completely cover the original faux leather. So far it's held up to being sat in, slept on, cats being on it, my 60lb mutt with all the grace of a drunk buffalo jumping on and off it. Literally my only complaint (that I won't take a star off for at all cuz this paint is amazing) is the bottles are TINY and kind of expensive ???? my couch was large so it took several bottles to cover it all, 2-3 bottles per section, even being lazy and leaving some spots that are against the wall so not seen. Would be great if there were more bottle size options for larger projects purely for convenience cuz 4oz is comically tiny. Price is worth it for the quality, though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lighter than shown but excellent coverage

I was expecting a different tone in colour ( Mint) but I decided to use it anyway as returning was too costly. The Mint in description was supposed to be darker and bluer. Product was thick compared to all my Angelus paints. Possibly an old batch.
However you can see the difference in pictures. I probably needed the color Yeezy instead. I don’t have right colors to mix this myself. Angelus should post swatches of colors to make it easier to select.
I used a wet beauty blender sponge for first coat, then used a brush to get opaque.
I went from a slate blue grey to this Mint. If I find correct shade in future I will repaint it.
One pen on wearing it for first time, created a disaster. Had to remove ink stains but ruined paint. So I decided to salvage my nee purse. The Mint was not a good match but its uniform at least for now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Repainted a Kate Spade purse!
Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2024
I recently thrifted a dingy, used Kate Spade bag and decided that for its low cost, I would try to gently restore it. Leather cleaner helped but it turned out to be worn and not so much dirty. I tried my hardest to color match and bought the Angelus "vanilla" and "Capezio tan", figuring if they don't match perfectly I can repaint fully. The colors were not a match but looked nice so I did a full repaint. Let the pictures speak for themselves! The paint needed no prep or seal, it stays on and isn't rubbing off or peeling. It also dries fairly quickly. I am very happy with the result and excited to use my "new" purse!
