Bonus- when open helps me shield the bright screen from my sleeping husband when I’m reading in bed at night. In addition, the side fold props open to hold the tablet up securely when I am laying on my side to read in bed. The quality is good, and it fits well. Regarding appearance, it has a good texture to prevent scratches and lint collection. I have a similar case for a kindle paperwhite in blue, and I purchased this case in black. Both colors are great!

Great case for the tablet

I thought my other Amazon Fire Tablet case would fit this one. After all it was a 2021 release. Low and behold the 2021 release case was just a tad bit too big by what seems to be millimeters.

The knew what they were doing with the 2023 refresh. The cases look similar but the newer release of the tab is slimmer which is great. The case does what it says, it protects and is pretty grippy in your hands. The cases form factor is sleek. The case is not cheap but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for simple protection for your 2023 release Fire tablet you cannot go wrong with this one.

Expensive for what it is... But worth it (to me)...

Good quality and durable. I think it's expensive for what it is, but it does make the tablet easier to hold (more secure, less slippery) and enhances the functionality (on/off by opening/closing the magnetic cover, and by folding the cover back it acts as a book stand horizontally OR vertically), and it adds a bit of protection - covering the screen when not in use. So, for me, it's money well spent and I would recommend it to others.

COMPARING THE COVERS: I purchased the less expensive soft leather-like cover that's NOT magnetized for one of my Kindle's. It's OKAY and SERVES ITS PURPOSE as a protective cover very nicely. What I don't care for: It only has a horizontal book stand so it doesn't work vertically - it's great for most games (if that's what you'll use it for), but NOT for hands-free reading if you prefer reading a book in the vertical position (like a hard cover book). It doesn't have the magnetic closure On/Off feature which I found I REALLY prefer having. If you use your Kindle a lot, like me, I highly recommend spending the extra money for the magnetic cover.

Also... Over the years I've occasionally dropped my Kindle(s) off the sofa or an end table and both covers protected them from breaking - so I think having a cover is essential.

This is a nice simple cover that was relatively easy to put on and fits my kindle fire well. The color is a good match for my lilac Kindle. The price seemed a bit high but I haven’t bought one in a while so that might just be the way things are now.

It's not the best prop to hold up the kindle HD fire, but it works and will turn off the kindle if you shut the cover. And it's plenty sturdy enough to protect the screen. It's my go-to cover.
