5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for the price!

I know you don't want to hear this but claiming this works outdoors is a bit misleading. I bought it to use building a retaining wall, but in full sun, the laser is visible at 5 feet and not beyond that. If you look at the outdoor photo I've attached, you can see that the laser is somewhat washed out at 15 feet, but it is overcast and drizzling here in Oregon in this photo. You cannot see the laser at 30 feet and forget about 100 feet! Even still the laser is useful outdoor for close up leveling and I'd rather have it than not.

You have to get creative with the way you use it. For example, I can point the laser at the retaining wall block face and I can see the green line 10 feet out in both directions. With it set to self-leveling, it can display a detectable green line on the wall to align the blocks with, and that's a big help. The wall is not finished yet, otherwise I would include a photo. When I'm done maybe I will.

The laser is outstanding for all indoor use as you can see in the second attached photo. Accuracy is excellent and its claimed functionality works great. I like this device a lot. It's solid and the magnets on the stand are very powerful and hold it solidly in place. I bought a piece of metal U-bar to hammer in the ground and then I place the device on it using the magnets, works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Laser Lever!
Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2024
This is a great level. Easy to use, bright, long battery life, accurate, and it does away with the need for a number of other tools I used to use to get good levels and plumbs on my projects. Well worth the cost, and fun to use! Also really like the case that comes with it… very sturdy and sufficient to keep the level from being damaged.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Useful Laser Level for Home Projects
Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2023
The Huepar laser level is a simple device to use; there aren't many gimmicks to it other than the self-leveling mode. It was immediately useful to me in my home projects though: installing a towel ring in the bathroom and installing a new receptacle in the wall. I used the laser level with a tripod I had on hand, and it worked really well; it provided level lines that exceeded the bubble levels I have.

One of the issues I have with the Huepar is that the self-leveling function can be finicky. It sometimes blinks and doesn't want to settle if the platform/tripod you are using it on isn't close to level, so there is very little wiggle room, when you are in a tight space, like a small bathroom, and don't have a tripod or platform that has an adjustable range of 2 feet to 6 feet.

Another issue is that the self-leveling mode doesn't power off with the power button. You have to lock it back into the standard mode, with a physical switch, before you can switch it off. There's a lot of touching the level to do this process; it is a hassle if you need to walk away from your work site for an extended period of time and don't want to waste the batteries but want your guides to stay the same.

Lastly, the provided magnetic platform is almost useless. The magnets are weak and only sticks to the nearest to surface metal. It is nowhere near the as strong as my magnetic stud finder, therefore unable to provide a strong platform for mounting. Also, the mounting screw and mounting platform is pointless; it's unstable and not firm holding, allowing the laser level to be knocked on a swivel with the slightest touch.

I like having the laser level and the green laser is bright and sharp for a home DIYer. I'd recommend something better for professional uses, but I don't mind recommending it for someone needing to install things level from time to time at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little level
Reviewed in the United States on June 30, 2024
Nice self-leveler and bright green laser light. It will be just right for the DIY fella. The green laser is a little thick but for the type of work I'll do, it will be more than adequate. A bit challenging to see at a distance in outside sunshine but still quite useable. Glad I bought it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful
Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2024
Used this to put up a projector screen which spanned more than 8 feet. Using a 2 feet bubble ruler wasn't good enough since it is easy to be slightly off with something so long. Also can't always rely on references on the wall such as the window frame on old houses since the builder may not have used a laser themselves. Also used it to put up some curtain rods.

It was nice and bright green line indoors. I didn't try it outdoors though. The line goes all the way to the top and even slightly more. The lower vertical line goes down half way between level and bottom.

In order to turn off the laser, you'll also need to lock it first which makes sense. Comes with a screw mount that has a magnet behind it so you can stick it to metal behind the wall such as the wall edges and sometimes drywall screws. Requires 4 AA batteries which comes with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take your bubble-lever and shove it
Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2024
This thing made what was a 45 minute endeavor, and transferred it into maybe a minute and a half. I am not a handy woman whatsoever, but now my photos in my apartment are even and incredibly satisfying. Super easy to use! I thought it came with the tripod, but I was mistaken. It does come with a magnetic adapter that I used on the Metal corners on my walls. Love this thing.
