Prints, scans, copies, even FAXes, if you need to. Why is that so great? Because it does all of these things about 100 times better than an inkjet all-in-one and for maybe 50% more on the price. If you haven't looked at color laser lately, look again. I suspect it's easier on toner than those awful injets too, and the hardware feels so much sturdier. Took a while to get it setup, but it's running wirelessly over my in-home network now, and it does a wonderful job. May be the last printer I need to buy, but in any case, I'll never go back to inkjet. Absolutely worth the extra cost vs. inkjet. Highly recommended.

Normally I don't write reviews, but I bought the Brother MFCL3720 printer and my experience has been great. We have a multi-OS home office setup. My wife uses Windows, I have a Linux desktop and Linux laptop, we have Android phones and when my son or daughter visit they have iPhones and Macs. We have tested the apple products yet, but I needed something that would work well with all of these.

Delivery: exactly on time, delivered right to our front door, the box was clean and free of "crunches" or any evidence of mishandling.

Unboxing: lots of good packing and shock-absorption in the box, the printer is a bit heavy for one person to lift, although the delivery woman managed it. We got it unpacked and just followed the 7/8 step "quick setup" sheet. We removed internal tape and packing material, re-installed the toner cartridges, put some paper in and plugged it in.

Setup: super simple, the automatic connection to the network didn't work for me (perhaps due to my eero wifi router) but manually selecting the network ssid and entering the password was easy and well-explained in the setup sheet. Once that was done it connected right away to the network.

Windows: relatively easy, used the "add printer" capability accessed through the control panel; it took a while to download the driver and go through setup, but once completed it connected right away and printed no problem.

Android: scanned the QR code from the printer LCD screen and downloaded the Brother mobile connect app from the Play Store. This went fine. I tried opening a photo within Google Photos and print. I did have to select the Brother printer but it produced a nice large color photo.

Linux (laptop and desktop): this worked astonishingly well, either because of the capability of Linux, or of the Brother printer support, or both. I opened the Settings..Printers menu and the printer was already there! I didn't have to install anything, it just found or downloaded the appropriate driver and worked to print immediately. Very impressive.

Features: duplex (two sided) printing worked immediately as an option in the "print" dialog of applications. I have scanned a few pages using the very useful "VueScan" utility available from Hamrick and again it just immediately worked flawlessly, no fussing.

The entire setup and testing took 25-30 minutes. Based on the first day of ownership at least, I give it my highest recommendation and look forward to years of use.

Great replacement for my HP OfficeJet 6600

Bought this to replace my my HP OfficeJet 6600 which had a printhead error, and fixing that wasn't something I wanted to really do given the age of that printer (at least 14 years old). After some research, I decided to go with a Brother toner-based color printer since the toner is dry and should last "forever". The other feature was the dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) that sold me. I use Xfinity xFi pods which broadcast the same SSID for the 2.4 and 5 networks. A lot of printers only work on the 2.4, just like the OfficeJet 6600 did, and therefore the wifi capabilities would not work. This is running great, and it is way faster at scanning and printing compared to the dinosaur it replaced. Quite happy with it so far.

I'm using this MFC-L3710CW printer for occasional home use mainly because I was so tired of buying ink cartridges and at my low rate of usage I figure the toner cartridges should last me ten years or more!

I've only had it a week but so far am enjoying being upgraded from ink jet life. This is much quicker and higher quality. I like the document feeder and the copier works well too.

So far I am NOT impressed with the envelope feeder. For some reason it always slightly crinkles the tail end of every envelope! Also, when doing envelopes it was also somehow trying to feed paper from the main paper tray which caused a jam which requires removing all the toner cartridges to unjam! Also, for envelopes, you have to open the back of the printer, flip down a couple of gray levers, and hand feed the envelopes one at a time. Then you collect the envelopes from the back, flip back the levers and close the back door. Kind of cumbersome and inefficient if you ask me.

The set up was okay...not as easy as some reviews make it out but they might be techno geeks which I'm not.

You do have to wait several seconds for the first page to start printing but that doesn't really bother me because I'm just not in any hurry.

I want to try the FAX but apparently you need a hard connection to a landline plug in...which I don't have in my printer room. If anyone knows if this can be done through web/wifi, please let me know!

Photos do not print very well but I haven't used real photo paper yet either. Nonetheless you can still observe where the deficiencies exist.

Setting up my tablets and phones was pretty simple...just download and install the recommended app and you're ready to go. The only thing I found odd was that in some apps a "print" option does not appear in the main menu. Instead you tap on "share" and find the printer as a share option.

For my purposes this will be a fine printer but if you're looking for top shelf performance, this isn't it.

Easy to setup and use, this color laser all in one printer works very well. I finally decided to replace my Canon injet all in one and this printer is performing much better then the inkjet. The auto document feeder for scanning is really nice as well. The toner cartridges look a bit small but if you're only printing occasionally, you should be good. I would classify this printer as a home office or personal printer, not a main office printer, due to the toner capacity.
