About this item
A sweeping small-town romance about love, loss, and a Montana legacy from USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry.
I met West Haven when I was eight years old. He taught me to play poker when I was nine, and we made paper airplanes together when I was eleven. He kissed me when I was sixteen. He was the best part about my family’s summer vacations to Montana. He was the boy who stole my heart. I was twenty-three when life ripped us apart.
Years later, I’m breaking my vow and returning to the ranch, not as a guest but its new owner. West might want me gone, but even he has to admit the only way to save his family’s legacy is with my help.
It’s not easy working side by side and facing those old memories. But this situation is only temporary. We’re at a crossroads. And as long as I don’t let myself fall in love with West Haven again, maybe this is our chance to put those ghosts to rest. Maybe this time we’ll finally be able to say goodbye.

Indya and West were truly amazing characters. I loved learning about their lives from the past and present and when those moments intersected and paralleled with the present day. The feelings between them ran deep and I felt that longing between them, the pull they had to one another. This story was filled with emotion and so many significant and poignant moments as they got to know each other as adults and connected. It was full of depth and layers and I loved all the nuances taking place.
I loved learning about their different family dynamics and the things that happened in their lives to form who they are. It’s complicated, messy, and real. I felt so much for West’s brother Jax and am really looking forward to his story in Sunlight. Besides Indya’s relationship with West, other aspects are unfolding related to her, and the wait to find out all those details was just as killer as waiting for the two of them to get to their HEA. There's some mild drama along the way, really good steam, and a whole lot of emotion. My feelings were all over the place and I needed more tissues than I want to admit.
This was a descriptive story with exceptional details and I thought it moved at an exciting pace. I was filled with so many questions and I loved that it really built to those answers. I was invested and rooting for them. The ending and epilogue were wonderful, I loved the growth and healing. I thought this was a phenomenal read filled with love and heart and so much emotion! New Devney Perry favorite!

I just started a new fantasy series, and I’ve found myself needing to take breaks halfway through each book and before starting the next one. It helps me stay focused with all the plot and world-building. Anyway, I was looking for a book yesterday, and when I went to pull it up, it hadn’t been released yet. So, I was scrolling and stumbled upon "Crossroads." I’ve seen a lot of buzz about it recently on social media, so I thought, why not give it a try?
Side note: I've had three significant losses in my family this year and have been dealing with a lot of grief. Usually, I go for romance books with more emotional depth, but I was hoping this one would be a spicy, easy read. Little did I know what I was getting into!
This book stirred all the emotions for me. The story follows Indyah, who is dealing with significant grief, returning to the ranch she spent her childhood summers at, now as the owner and manager. Her first love and childhood friend, West, works on the ranch. The current-day timeline explores Indyah’s grief journey and the possibility of rekindling something with West. While the grief is a part of the story, it doesn’t overshadow the romance. It was such an emotional read that it left me in tears a couple of times.
This book was completely unexpected for me, and I am hooked! The story is beautiful, anchored by well-written characters with strong development and complicated, entwined family dynamics. 4.5 stars out of 5 for me – I’m very excited for the next in the series!
