Just like Honey Mountain & Cottonwood Cove, you'll fall in love with Magnolia Falls, Kingston Pierce and his band of brothers. Five brothers of the heart and one equally adorable, if not cooler, six year old ???????? They can all learn a thing or two from Beefcake and his love language ????

Laura has managed to yet again suck us right into this beautiful world that she's created & we find ourselves not wanting to leave.

Kingston Pierce is Smokin' Hot & Sinfully Delicious. The life of the party. Happy go lucky & always quick witted. A ladies man, who has never truly settled. He's undeniably sweet & fiercely protective of those he loves, especially Saylor.... A big gooey Cinnamon Roll ❤️

Saylor Woodson, sister of Hayes. She's beautiful, both inside and out. Bubbly & Sunny and pretty darn adorable. A dreamer with a sweet vulnerability to her, yet she has an inner strength that shines bright in times of need.

King & Saylor have always had a special bond, one born from pain, grief & ultimately, healing. Kingston always saw her as his girl, even though she wasn't. His "Dandelion". Can I just say that I'm a sucker for a nickname! And that one? Swoon ????

As Saylor returns to town to settle down & open a Romance Bookstore, King finds himself fighting his attraction to her like never before. The internal war rages strong. Afraid he'll lose his best friend, yet more afraid to lose the girl who haunts his dreams, King puts up a good fight, until one moment changes everything...

These two are utter perfection. They build each other up. They aren't afraid to fight for one another, no matter the cost. They laugh & love without boundaries. They complete each other like nobody ever could.

Absolutely LOVE this book

Here is my thought, Laura has a little magic pixie that helps her write the most amazing books because each one is absolutely amazing and makes me fall in love with both the characters immediately. Wait, maybe in this book it is actually the dandelion fluff that is released when you make a wish. That has to be it!!

I kind of knew that this book would become my favorite for the sole reason it is brothers’ best friend, but it was also the fact that I fell for them as individuals as well as a couple. Saylor is just amazing. The thing about her is that she knows what she wants to do and makes it happen. Owning a book store is her dream and I love that she made it happen regardless if anyone didn’t truly believe in her success. The fact that we got glimpses of a few of our favorite former characters might have made me squeal a little bit as well. Saylor has a passion for all the things life holds and that includes Kingston. And let’s be honest here, King is just the perfect guy for her. They fight to keep things as friends, but the magnetic pull is so strong there was no stopping their collision and I was here for each moment of that happening. What I think I love the most about them is that they were always friends first. It wasn’t the type of trope where these two don’t see eye to eye or get along, no they truly were friends and hiding dandelion’s might make me love them both even more. Ending this with one side character because if you have read either of the Magnolia Falls books you know Beefcake, this little guy makes my heart so happy. I love watching him with each of his Uncles and now Aunts, but it is how they are all with him that brings the smile to my face. This is yet another fantastic book by one of my all time favorite authors ever.

4.5-starred sibling's best friend romance

There's something about a romance that's considered forbidden that elicits a certain thrill, and nothing is as popular as the falling for a sibling's best friend trope, alternatively, falling for a best friend's sibling. Laura Pavlov delivers just that in the third novel in her Magnolia Springs series, which features a close-knit group of friends who are more like brothers that find love, making their found family expand with each new book. Forbidden King is about Kingston Pierce, twenty-five, co-owner of RoD (Ride or Die) Construction, and younger brother of River Pierce (Wild River, book two in the Magnolia Falls series), and Saylor Woodson, twenty-three, owner of the Love Ever After bookstore, and younger sister of Hayes Woodson (Finding Hayes, book five in the Magnolia Falls series, due for release in October). She's his Dandelion, the girl who's been his friend since they were teenagers and someone he would do anything for. Except maybe give in to the all-consuming feelings he has for her. But how long can King resist Say?

It took someone like Saylor to make a guy like King fall heart first, and boy, was it a joy to witness. King's the one among the Ride or Die fivesome who's always given off a happy-go-lucky vibe. He jokes around a lot and teases his brother and best friends mercilessly, but he's also got such a huge heart and Saylor is the only girl to glimpse that side of him. I loved the fact that they had their own special friendship, one that was just theirs, separate from King's with his brother and best friends. Compared to the first two books in the series, this had a bit of a lighter feel to it. That being said, there was still a fair amount of angst, especially given the fact that the two were keeping their blossoming romance under wraps, particularly when it came to her brother, Hayes. There was also the drama courtesy of Saylor's estranged father, but even that had an entertaining hint of levity to it. My own quibble would have to be the repeated use of the phrase "forbidden King". That aside, I enjoyed Forbidden King and award it 4.5 stars.
