About this item

Max had never questioned his need to live alone until she arrived.

Max had always been an enigma on Kodiak Island, his solitary life and mysterious past shrouded in secrecy. But when his friend breaks a leg, Max reluctantly offers to host the guest booked at Joe's loft. When Alexa, a fearless journalist with a passion for adventure, steps off the plane and meets Max, he knows she is his fated mate.

Alexa soon realizes she’s staying with Max Renner, the well-known and reclusive artist who has consistently refused all interview requests. Determined to get his story, she plunges into his guarded world. Little does she know, she’s about to be swept into a web of secrets and deceit.

As they delve deeper into Max’s hidden past, their mutual attraction blazes into an undeniable passion. In a moment of excitement, Max marks her without her consent. The unveiling of his family’s dark secrets and the revelation of his true identity collide.

Can Alexa accept Max’s shadowy past and embrace the extraordinary future he offers her?

Warning: This is an Alaskan Tails novella, a spin-off from the Mystic River Shifter series. You don't need to read Mystic River to enjoy these stories.

This is the first book by Delta I have read. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more books by Delta. Max's past is a bit of a mystery and he has always preferred to be along. Alexa is a travel writer. This year's article is about Kodiak Alaska. She has arranged to rent a room as opposed to stay in a hotel. When Alexa arrives she learns that she will be staying with Max instead of where she planned because of an accident the owner had. Max knows right away she is his fated mate. Alexa can't believe she will be staying with the reclusive artist and she can't wait to get to know him. Alexa helps Max discover parts of his past and their connection intensifies. Things happen in a moment of passion. How will Alexa react when she learns what being a mate means and that she was marked without consent? This book was a great read. I look forward to reading more books in this series and connected to it. Delta is a wonderful author. Great job Delta.

4.0 out of 5 stars A sweet, quick read, no angst, shifter romance

His Rescued Mate is a sweet, quick read, no angst, shifter romance. It has a bit of steam, too. The characters are likable and I enjoyed the story but there were one or two things that did not sit right with me and everything just seemed too easy. By the way, although set in the world of the Otter Cove and Mystic River books, there is nothing in this story relating to the resistance storyline in those series. 3.75 stars.

Travel writer Alexa Carrington is on assignment on Kodiak Island, Alaska, ready for adventure – and boy will she find it. Just getting to Kodiak Island was a bit rough. She’s not a fan of flying, even less so on a small propeller plane. Then once she arrives, she discovers the host she booked her stay with is injured so she’ll be lodging with reclusive artist Max Renner instead.

Alexa recognizes Max at once. He’s well-known in the art world for his wood carvings, and she’s an admirer. Max, an alpha wolf shifter, also recognizes Alexa, but for a far different reason – she’s his fated mate. As they get to know each other, the attraction is strong, but there are mysteries in Max’s eyes.

Even though the book is novella length, the story is nicely paced, the romance builds creditably and while there is no mention of the sinister plotline that ties the related Mystic River/Otter Cove/Shadow Sisters books together, there is still plenty of intrigue. Entertaining and enjoyable.

Loved Alexa and Max’s story ! It fits right in with the other Alaska books but stands alone with just a mention or two of the other characters. Max is a lone wolf shifter who carves things from Wood, Alexa a human travel reporter who comes to Kodiak to do a piece on something “interesting “ for her magazine. They get caught up in a cozy mystery about his great-aunt Evelyn. This was a quick, spicy piece of Kodiak shifter heaven ! Great characters and an interesting storyline ! 5 ✨’s

I would classify myself as a well read woman in terms of romcoms and mated stories. Wolves are my favorite animal and I have always loved the expansive stories that people have created. This is definitely for a more experienced Wolfie book lover. Not trying to spoil but it gets a little intense at the end lol. Not in a bad way personally but from the very start it was easy to connect with the fl and fall in love with the ml. The fact that they're both artists is beautiful and charming. And you find yourself not wanting to put the device down! I didn't feel good about the fl not getting a choice or an explanation before they were intimate. But I could also understand from her pov that she knew she had found her match and was unashamedly ready to live her life. From start to finish this book is one of my favorite fantasies. And I would definitely encourage you to delve into your secret desires and have the best bite of hot shifter man. Enjoy ;)

Max told Joe that he would let Alexa stay in his guest room because Joe had broken his leg when he saw her knew she was his mate. Alexa wanted to tell the world everything about Max because he is a reclusive and famous artist but then he lets her know why she couldn’t. They gave into their feelings and he accidentally marks her so she has to admit that she still wanted him.

This is max and alexa's story. max is a well known artist and Alexa writes for a travel magazine. Her latest assignment is Kodiak Alaska where max lives. She is his fated mate but doesn't know anything about shifters. She feels the pull and as they track down what happened to his aunt Evelyn the feelings grow. Well written plot and good characters are hallmarks of deltas' books. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A quick sweet fated mate love-perfect for that needed shifter romance fix. Max lived on Kodiak Island as an artistic recluse but that all changes when he sees Alexa. Alexa is here to find a story but fate writes a love story. A bit of mystery, undeniable attraction, secrets, passion and forever.
