    My 17 year old son has been into music and instruments. He asked for this for Christmas. When it came and I opened it, I was honestly shocked. It was bigger than expected! It was the cutest little thing! I had to play it. I was trying to wrap it for Xmas but couldn't resist playing with it! It came with a tiny little book of a few songs. I picked up pretty quickly. There was only one I was confused about. In the book there was a number zero and there was no 0 on the keys. Maybe I am just being dumb and it's not actually a key to use but if not why was it on there for one of the songs? Lol I played everything else very nicely! I don't know if a kid could pick it up quickly or not. I know my teenager will be able to. The sound was really nice as well. It also came with a little "Hammer" looking thing I guess to use to hit the keys...or I assume that's what it's for. I tried it and it didn't like that...would rather use my thumbs. It is well made and seems like it will last for a long time if properly cared for. Definitely worth the price I paid which I believe was less than $20. Overall, it is a great gift for music and instrument lovers! You won't be disappointed!

    I don't know if I'll ever be any good at playing this, but it sounds good and is fun to try to learn! I got my grandson one and he can already play some songs. He really likes it!

    This kalimba is very cute! And it sound amazing, but I'm missing D●●2 key. Love it but I wouldlove it even more if I had the missing key.

    First off, the price of this was very affordable. I expected a small literal hand held device. What I got was much more than expected and exceeds any expectations I could ever have. I got this as a gift for my friend who mentioned having one when she was younger. Living under a rock, I had no idea what it even was. I opened the box to see what it looked like and it’s a beautiful wooden instrument that is light enough to carry in the pouch that’s include and pop it into your bag. You can use it virtually anywhere; at work, at home, at the park, on the train. It makes such a beautiful sound, too. I’m so happy with this purchase. Might even come back to buy my own.

    I'm quite impressed. This is my first kalimba. I bought this one from Amazon "used". It was about $10. I realize now that I was taking a chance. However, this kalimba has great sound. How do I know? I bought another one with a design on it that I liked more and the sound was very lackluster in comparison. The other one also had a dead tine or two and the wood just felt... Cheaper somehow.

    This one has great resonance. It feels really nice in the hands. I'm very pleased.

    Cons: like others have stated, the design is slightly different than pictured. However, I really don't care. I didn't buy it for the design.
