I so deeply regret that Lewis never finished The Dark Tower. Full of fascinating ideas! The short stories are great too. If you love Lewis, you'll love these. If you hate unfinished stories, steer clear. Also, definitely meant for adults and not kids...don't expect Narnia.

C.S. Lewis does not disappoint. I only wish there was more of this book. Truly a great series. Would especially recommend Out of the Silent Planet and Perelandra.

Very interesting stories, it's sad that a couple of them is incomplete, specially The Dark Tower, it would have been amazing if it was complete.

The Dark Tower has the beginnings of an excellent adventure. We can only imagine what it would have become had Lewis finished it. It is immensely frustrating when it is cut off so abruptly but it is still well worth the read.

If this were only a review of Ministering Angels it would be five stars. It's a quick read -less than ten minutes- but it has the soul of a much longer story, is immensely entertaining, and will remain so after dozens of re-reads.

Once again, Ministering Angels, by C.S. Lewis, is an excellent short story. I rate it five stars, and highly recommend it to anyone with a sense of humour.

Unfortunately, this isn't only a review of Ministering Angels, but a review of the entire book, The Dark Tower and other stories, which is a compilation of some of Lewis' unfinished, unpublished, and lesser known work.

The Dark Tower and Ten Years After are two manuscripts found by Lewis's friends after his death: both are well written, and clearly had the potential to be two of Lewis' finest works of fiction; sadly, these stories are unfinished, leaving me without much to go on either way.

The Man Born Blind, The Shoddy Lands, and Forms of Things Unknown are interesting and well written, but are nothing special; they lack the soulfulness of Lewis' better stories. I didn't care much for them, and can't see myself re-reading any of them for entertainment purposes.

In conclusion, there are six stories in this book. One is excellent. Two are pretty good, but unfinished. And Three are average. Final grade: 3 stars. Ministering Angels is a must-read, but aside from that, this compilation wasn't exactly incredible.

C.S. Lewis's strangest unfinished science fiction work

It is sad that so many of Lewis's unfinished works were destroyed before publishing, but we are fortunate that this one was rescued and lovingly preserved. This chilling tale grabs you from the beginning with unique twists and turns and finally the dread of realization that the end for all is near. But since it is not finished then we can only assume the outcome. I look forward to asking Lewis what he intended when I meet him in heaven.

C.S. Lewis's bizarre side!

We had a copy of this book on the shelf when I was growing up in the '60's and '70's. It's a collection of short stories written by Lewis, some of them quite bizarre, some unfinished. Since I have always had a rather bizarre mind I found them appealing. Still do.
