Fantastic first ukulele!

I bought this for my niece (I play and she wants to learn). I totally support buying cheap instruments for new players (especially kids), but if the instrument doesn't play well and feel good, it won't get played! This uke is amazing for the price! I've had 4 ukuleles myself and this is by far the best cheap uke I've played! It's not as nice as my $350 concert uke, but that's to be expected! It's mighty close though, considering the price difference. It's real wood - not plastic. It feels great, plays great, and looks great. It comes with picks that should never be used, a strap that might be good for a kid, a book with chord diagrams, and extra strings!
The only thing missing is a tuner, but that's not at all a problem. Just buy a decent rechargeable tuner. They're not expensive. The ones that come with kits/bundles like this are usually...crappy.
Finally, if you've been playing a cheap toy uke and are looking to upgrade without spending a small fortune, you've found the uke for you! Get it!

High quality for a low price

I have recently started playing ukulele, this one is my third in total. I am absolutely in love with this ukulele. The sound is so crisp and clear! Made of wood, not laminate. The finish is so pretty! I really like the craftmanship in all 3 ukuleles, they are all different brands, this Caramel Tenor is hands down my favorite!
I am a year + into playing the ukulele and in my personal opinion no matter your age or level of playing is, if you get this quality Caramel Ukulele I have, you will love it!!
I would highly recommend this Tenor Ukulele to anyone, and lookwise, it would be a perfect gift for anyone.
The extras - electric tuner, very nice one. Polishing cloth - standard issue. Ukulele strap - not going to use, want something a little more me. Also included 3 pretty colored picks (pink, blue & purple). Extra strings - typical extras, I myself am not planning on using them. I will either get D'addario or Aquila Brand for my replacements.
I don't know what brand of strings are on the ukulele, but they are soooo nice! I would buy these if I knew the brand!!
The bag is very nice, well padded and good quality!
I really, really like this Tenor Ukulele. It was well worth the wait for this one!
I would buy this as a gift for a friend and know it was a high quality gift they would be receiving, one that wouldn't break the bank!

My only complaint, (that is of course always explained as any type of wood is all different shades and colors/patterns and can't be guaranteed ????) is that it isn't deeply colored and unique looking, like the one pictured. It just looks kind of plain, without the thick, deep, dark streaks; like the one pictured from the seller appears to have. Just looks like a regular wood ukulele, which is okay for beginners. I just hoped it would be more unique looking instead of a kind of run of the mill, wood grain that's not too much different than oak, which is plain, with no real depth and those [desireable] thick, deep brown streaks; like good Koa typically has. The abalone circle is a nice touch, but just wish it had a little more pizazz! All in all though, a decent deal for the price with the accessories and quality.

Just under $50 What a Deal!

A solid mahogany top (rare) no sharp fret wires, also rare, smooth well fitted joints, and stained the same color over the entire instrument (including the back side of the neck). The tuners are of better quality than most, no slipping. Then Caramel throws in a nice looking, well padded bag, a clip-on tuner, an extra set of their nylon strings, and picks. The strings are set at the correct height and intonation is correct up to fret 12.
Just to show off a bit, because I've never seen it done, but what at first looks like a sound hole decal turns out to be a vert nifty laser cut design. I may go back and order another one just to have a great uke to gift to a friend or new uke devotee! This is my 3rd Caramel ukulele: I always check Caramel's offering qbefore buying another.
