This app really was a life saver for me. Lucky for me In my profession (nursing) I never really needed a resume. Well an opportunity suddenly presented itself where a great job opportunity became available to me. You guessed it I NEEDED A RESUME and quickly. I went into panic mode but I downloaded this app and stayed up half the night to get this resume completed and voila this app helped me create a wonderful resume and was very easy to use. Well worth my money!

1.0 out of 5 stars Red Flags Abound - Buyer Beware!
Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2013
When I read that there are NO files saved on your device but stored on the cloud, that gave me significant pause. First, this means the app must have internet access to work. Second, what happens to the file if either you have no access to the internet or the service goes dark?

Or worse, who has your private information and what can happen to it?

I went looking for answers. What I found disturbed me, and gave me absolutely no reassurance at all with regards to the security or safety of your private information, nor the dependability or ethics of the developer.

The first thing I discovered was that he has reviewed his own apps, even thanking himself in the review for this one (see M Twain). [UPDATE: Found more fake reviews in January and February.]

Okay, fine, fake reviews happens frequently. But going back, there is no indication what server this file and its information is going. Google searches indicated that the APK info contains twansoftware.com, which is parked on GoDaddy servers. Incidentally, his chuinard.com site is hosted on GoDaddy servers. GoDaddy doesn't instill confidence in me and my tech background; they do a fine job of domain registration and provocative advertising, but not much else.

I suspect that your resume data is being transmitted in "clear text", which means that there is no security on the transfer of the information or file. Naturally, there is no way to determine the security of the server as well, or of its security of the data. Again, I suspect that it stored with little security, probably on shared hosting servers in the care of GoDaddy. I'll check on the security of the transmission, and if I'm wrong I'll revise this review accordingly.

The app apparently uploads your private, sensitive information to the dev's server, which packs it into the proprietary (and problematic) format of DOC. Then the server emails it to you, again without security (not to mention email attachments are a bad practice).

Remember, your resume likely contains very sensitive information such as your name, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and enough history for identity thieves to have a party. Which brings us to the next issue: what happens to your data after you upload it to Tony's server? What does, or will, he do with it? A couple of years ago, he and a buddy named Craig Landry started a company called SpeakBin [...] which lasted about 18 months. The website no longer exists, and the app is gone from the Google app store. His Google+ page make it seem that his business is run from his home office. Nothing here gives me confidence that the service won't disappear tomorrow or the day after, along with your resume data and money you spent for this app.

Not only that, if or when the business goes belly up or is bought out by another company, what is going to happen to your data? Will it be sold to the highest bidder to cover his next month's mortgage? I don't know. But ethically, he's not on the most solid ground in my opinion, so I'm not assured that wouldn't happen.

By the way, this app doesn't have data-mining spyware because you are giving that data to him freely; there's no need for the malware.

On a last note, there's nothing here that couldn't be accomplished by using a template with one of the available office suites, except that you'd maintain more control over your file and your data.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some negative reviews are true
Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2013
Unfortunately most of the negative reviews are true. I installed the app just to see if it really could be that bad. The major flaw I never got the email with my "resume" if I had been in a real life situation I would had been toasted. Lucky me it was only a test, three hours later still no email. The other flaws are irrelevant since you will never be able to send your resume. It could have potential, but definitely not now.
UPDATE: I got my resume by email, it was in my spam folder and I was able to open it, so the only thing I can say is that I apologize, and I do hope the developer improves the app. First, more than one resume format. And Second, that you can choose between saving it on you device and/or emailing the file. So I will bump it up to three stars. But still not worth $2.99.

4.0 out of 5 stars low risk app
Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2013
ok majority of jobs require you to fill out paper work online. naturually you're going to need an online resume. Saves time and one less thing stress about. This is what makes this app good. Its stored online. Now here's something for you folks scared of privacy. Uh news flash if you have a facebook or are on any social media guess what someone can steal you're personally infornmation simply by adding you as a friend. This app doesn't ask for a social security number or photo ID. The same thing you would write on a job app you can enter in the categories provided. Once you're done simply email it too yourself and then download it to you're hard drive or whatever storage device. There's no gimmick its so simple I have this and used it countless times landed a lot of jobs with this app. Employers just want a resume that's simple and easy to read and that's just what this app is. It loads on all websites so if it doesn't show its not the app its your uploader for the device you're currently using in combination with whatever website my advice download different uploaders preferably anything Microsoft if that's unattainable then explore around with different companies uploaders. As long as you have Norton firewall nobody will hack you're device and like I said this is low risk app.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just a template really
Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2013
While it might put the items in order for you, it is basically the same as using the resume wizard on Word. You have to know what to write and how to write it, there are no tips for style or content, just headings. You are expected to fill everything in yourself. How is this any different than any other template available on the internet for free? Glad I didn't pay for this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great App!
Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2013
This application is great! It's helped me and my husband to make quick and easy resumes. The only thing I have to say bad about the app is that if you don't update it won't generate your resume and there is no notification to update.

Well I would like to share how this app "worked" for me, but it didn't work at all! As soon as I downloaded it, it said this app is corrupted and cannot be downloaded. Sorry devs. Take this one back to the drawing board.

This product really works well and does what it's intended to do. It makes setting up a resume simple and the ability to save the file to the phone is even more a benefit. Thank you.
