I got these to replace to slowly dimming 18 year old LED Christmas light string which I have had in the crown molding and are used nightly. I got the 25 foot string as a test. They work well and provide a nice amount of light. Using my Kill-A-Watt, they consume 9 watts at 120V. They appear to be be well insulated from the weather (not needed or tested for my application) and appear to be sturdy. No data yet on longevity. They turn on when supplied power and DO NOT blink. This was a key issue for my use as I do not need nor want 8 modes or 11 modes. I simply wanted ON and OFF and these work as expected. I will buying these again to fill the rest of the rooms.

Edit: This 25 foot string is 2x or possibly 3x brighter than the 66 LED Christmas tree light string that I have in the same room. Definitely better. Now have to wait to see what the longevity will be.

May Emit Light When Off via Smart Plug; Less Warm Than Hoped For (but accurate to 3000K)

We had an incandescent rope light light around our headboard for years, but it finally died so we replaced it with this.

Regarding the feature ratings - Brightness: more than I expected (or even wanted). I don't see an explicit allowance to add a dimmer, and most LED lighting that can be safely dimmed will say so.
Easy to Install: I didn't use the included mounting brackets, but rather found a stick-on cable clip that worked well (Gardner Bender brand Adjustable Kwik Klips 3/8" 10mm item# GKK-1538).
Easy to use: Plug in, they come on. Although they are packaged coiled, the rope hasn't fought our straightening of it too much. We only have one strand, so I can't comment on daisy-chaining.

The rope light has no built-in switch, so we connected it to a smart outlet (KMC 700011) for voice control via Alexa. Unfortunately when the light string is "off" (plugged into the smart outlet we used on our previous rope light), the elements still emit faint light, and even "twinkle" a bit. I haven't tried troubleshooting with a different smart plug, but be aware that this is a possibility. I don't think this is an inherent flaw in the rope light, but definitely a concern if controlling via anything that doesn't completely close the circuit.

The lights are rated at 3000K, which is just under what a traditional incandescent light would be (3200K). Although my color temperature app confirms it is 3000K, it "feels" bluer/cooler than that. We were hoping for something much warmer & cozier, and if we were to get something else I'd look for something balanced to 2000K to achieve what we wanted. But that is our fault, not the product.

Overall, the description is accurate. If you have trouble sleeping if there is ANY amount of light/distraction, don't control them the way we have. If you want a very warm light, try to find a lower color temperature or spend (much) more money on a color-changing strand.

A Lot of Light for Less For About the Same Wattage as Two LED Bulbs

I got the idea for year round rope lights while I was enjoying the 12 Foot Sting of LED Christmas Lights over our front porch. I was impressed with how much light they put out. They lit the entire 5'x16' porch and also added drama to the stone facade of our house. And I wouldn't have to mow around them like with up lights. I first installed some rope lights around the side porch using a 16 foot string. I just used the c-clip hangers that came with the set. I used paint of the same color as the house trim to hide the LED that shone through voids in the molding and drip edge. Under the porch, I taped off 1/2 inch strip pointing straight down to illuminate the door locks and against the wall for drama, then painted the side and top of the rope light. The light is deliberately muted to avoid light pollution to my neighbors. A solar light is mounted nearby and is aimed to come on when my car door is opened.
For the front of the house I used (2) 25 foot sections. The outlet for both is right in the middle. Each set wraps around the sides by 5 feet, and are installed to reduce light pollution to both neighbors. I mounted the 25 foot lights in a plastic holder. I used "24 Pcs 39 3/8" x 9/16" x 9/16" Channel PVC Light Mounting Track" and it was more than enough for 66 feet of rope LED light. The channel was less than $40 and 66 feet of rope light was about $55, so the whole project with screws, paint, gorilla tape and watt meter was less than $150 dollars. My $27 Poniie PN2000 Plug-in Kilowatt Electricity Usage Monitor shows that the 25' LED Rope uses about 9.5 watt and the 16' rope uses about 6 watts. So my rope lights illuminate the entire front and mute light down the side for 25 watts. My old 60 watt and 75 equivalents (9 and 13) were 22 watts for two flood style lamps. The channel has thee sides. I found that I could paint the back side of the channel for a muted effect and less glare on the painted molding. I have solar gooseneck lights on my garage, and several Bell and Howell solar spot lights. So, the 25 watts of rope light and two 13 watt motion only LED spots in my rear drive are the only outside lights my electric company has to provide power to. Some of my rope light stayed up an some came down within minutes. I dotted the rope light every foot or so with caulk and it stayed. It will also be pretty easy to swap out the rope light for when I desire a product upgrade.

I love my new porch lights

I am so pleased with my new outdoor, rope lights. They nestled perfectly in the handrail and went up very fast. We used zip-ties to hold them in place. I love the warm white glow. Perfect accent to our backyard. I would highly recommend.

Bright WHITE Light

Picture left when light is on. Picture on right when the light is off. WOW! These are the bright white, not the soft white. They work great in a dark closet or any area that you want to brighten. Purchased the 25’. Just enough for my closet. The clips it comes with aren’t great. If you have to remove the lighting, it could break the plastic clip so I suggest purchasing your own clips & get the wider ones.
