Works with Fire HDX 8.9

OK, just downloaded this for my Fire HDX 8.9 and Hero3. This is not the same as the GoPro app on the GoPro site. This is the one that works on a Kindle Fire HDX. It seems to work pretty good with my only complaint being that the preview mode is pretty jerky if you are moving the camera around. Still it gives you a good enough picture of what the lens is seeing and for my use with setting up the Hero3 on a tripod while making how-to videos, I'm satisfied. On this HDX app, you don't get the Hero3 record/stop controls on the same page as the preview such as you see with GoPro site app. You have to check out your tripod view first then "back-arrow" to the record/stop controls. Still, you're able to carry your Kindle with you into the field of view or wherever and start/stop recording as needed. If there's any confusion on setup, install the app first, set the HERO3 wireless to broadcast to the app (not Wireless RC), turn on the HDX wireless and locate the SSID of the camera and enter the password. Speaking of SSIDs, note that if you decide to get an update during Product Registration at GoPro, you'll be asked to enter a username and password. These then integrate into the update download and become your SSID and password so make sure you write them down (don't use the default SSID/password info as shown in the manual after updating, it won't connect). After the HDX connects, launch the app.

Does Not Work With Kindle Fire

Although the app finds my Go Pro, the controls will not work. I can preview what the camera see's, but I cannot change the view to horizontal and I am unable to record. When I went back to my iPhone to control the Go Pro, I had to perform a complete reset of the camera. The iPhone would link to the camera but would not record. For some reason when I pressed the record button on the iPhone the camera would engage the record twice turn the record mode on then off! After several attempts I finally ended up disconnecting the usb cable and battery from the camera and hitting the on/off button a few times before the camera started to function properly with the iPhone.

Just sits there and says "connecting" but does not connect. Waste of money. Wifi was enabled on both camera and Kindle fire hd. I want my money back.
