I received this as a gift a few years ago and it was great.

Unfortunately just recently, using it made my back hurt. As I had gone through some health issues and changes, I almost attributed the back pain to that but realized that my back only hurt when I sat on the cushion.

I bought a new one (of the same brand/this product I'm reviewing) and after using it all day today, I can say that the new cushion works great and my back doesn't hurt anymore.

So if your back suddenly hurts after sitting on this for a while, it may be time for a new cushion if you bought or are already using this product.

I’m really happy with this cushion to relieve my tailbone pain and to sit upright for low back and hip support.

Many reviewers said it was too firm, which was actually a selling point for me. As a massage therapist I know exactly what’s is needed for therapeutic and support purposes. It does soften and compress some when you sit on it , but it’s not mushy and doesn’t flatten at all which would defeat its purpose. Nor is it too hard, it’s gives.

I plan to get another one for my car, which I can also bring into a restaurant or anywhere I may be sitting for a while like an event or the movies .

It’s also comfy if I turn to lay on one side while watching tv on the sofa, as it prevent the side of my hip from sinking into the sofa cushion . Last night I used it in bed between my knees while on my side and at one point while on the same side position I placed it sideways against lower back and it supported my sacrum and prevented it from rolling/rotating backwards while leaning up against it. I also used it while laying flat on my back and it kept my pelvis in a pelvis tilt position which relieved low back pain. Getting the cushion in the proper position for support is important before you get comfy .

I got it in black, cover is removable, cover has a handle to carry it and the gel foam has a nice cooling anti inflammatory effect on my back and when used on my knees. I have a lot of joint pain and inflammation.

PERFECT FOR AFTER SPINAL SURGERY

I recently had 2 major spinal surgeries which included my SI joint being fused to my pelvis. Sitting can be tough and painful, even to my tailbone. I bought this to use at work and it's wonderful!!! So comfortable and supportive, taking pressure off of my lower spine and tailbone. The size is great (I'm 5'6" and 200 lbs) and it stays in place in my office chair. I'm glad I tried it!

Came Back for Another One!

I've been using my ComfiLife cushion for years. I have no idea how long, but I've been so grateful for it! It's very comfortable and gives relief to the back as well as lifting me a little higher in the chair. With a bad shoulder, I can't always stand up and push off easily, so this really helps. I've also taken to using it in the car, which prompted me to come back for another one.

While I was on a recent cruise, I'd use the cushion to sit in the showroom, and it REALLY helped there. Interestingly, as I was walking out one night, I noticed a man near me that I knew slightly. He was carrying the exact same cushion. We both commented on how much it helped!

I purchased this seat cushion because I was having pain in my tailbone. This is doing well at helping with that problem.

The reason this is a 3-star, instead of a 5-star, rating, is this: The company didn't stop to think, "Hey, maybe we should make sure that this cushion, which really does need to stay in a very specific spot, relative to the seat... doesn't move around every time someone uses it."

This cushion slides. The supposedly grippy material on the bottom is completely ineffective. My office chair seat is significantly larger than this cushion, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I sit down, I have to reposition the cushion so that it is in the right spot, and my tailbone lands in the cutout. The designers should have provided a method for securing this cushion to the seat. Had they provided a product that didn't move around all over the place, this would have been a 5-star rating.

I would still recommend this product, if you can put up with the irritation of having to readjust it all the time. It does seem to help relieve at least my pain...

I started a new job and my desk chair was the most uncomfortable thing I ever sat in. At the end of the day my tailbone was sore as well as my legs. This cushion made quite a difference. The chair isn’t exactly comfortable (that’s not the cushion’s fault) and I’m no longer in pain. The chair is noticeably cooler too - the cool gel works as advertised.
