The other sound machine I had worked great, but after use i couldn't turn down the volume. This one is really compact and has more sound options. The only thing is my old one had a 10 minute time setting. I do like this one.

I don't go for alot of high tech, complicated gadgets so this was a pleasure to receive. One on/off button, one volume up, one volume down and a timer button. Simple to use and a selection of sounds for comfort. I highly recommend if you are in the market for such an item.

My wife is an incredibly light sleeper, and always needs some form of a sound machine or fan blowing to create background noise to be able to sleep. Bringing a traditional sound machine along on vacations has always been an annoyance, both from the size of the machine, but also the big transformer-style power supply, so this unit seemed like a perfect option to have a travel-sized sound machine.

Physically, this sound machine is roughly the size of a K-cup coffee pod, so it does not need to take up much of any space in a suitcase, which is fantastic. The volume of sound output is not as loud as a larger machine, but it's certainly an acceptable volume, and better than I was expecting from such a small speaker.

There are a number of built-in sounds, but the basic white noise is the only one we'll be using.

Charging is done via USB-C, so it's convenient in that regard. From my testing, it appears that when fully charged, it should be able to play white noise at full volume for about 10 hours.

There is a sleep timer function to play sounds for 30/60/90 minutes, or no timer (stays on).

While I am happy to have this device for traveling, that does not mean it is perfect, though. It has some UI annoyances, which all seem like things that could be corrected with a software update:
1. Despite the manual stating that it remembers your settings between uses, that is not true. When turning OFF the timer function to play sound all night long, once the unit is powered off, and then turned on again, it will revert to a 30-minute timer, so it becomes necessary to press the timer button 3x every time the device is used to make sure the timer is off.
2. The unit cannot be turned ON while it is plugged in to charge. If wanting it to play sound all night and not starting with a full battery, it's definitely not possible to go 2 full nights on a single charge, so the 2nd night will need a power cord connected. If you turn the sound machine and get it playing a sound, and THEN plug in a charger, it will charge and play the sound simultaneously, but it makes no sense that it can't be powered on while it's already charging.

I am loving this sound machine. I sleep with a small fan at home and have been traveling for the past two weeks. This sound machine is perfect for me and is incredibly small. The sound that it makes is much more robust than I would have guessed. When it's fully charged it will last through the night. And when I've neglected to charge it and it turns off in the night there's no weird or annoying beep. It just stops working. The timer function seems to work great but I've been leaving it on all night long. On nights when I've forgotten to charge it, I have plugged it into a small travel phone battery and it doesn't drain the battery much (I haven't had to recharge it after 4 nights). You can also easily plug it in to a wall outlet and work it that way.

The sounds that it makes include an ocean sound that I really like. My favorite however is just a white noise that sounds a lot like my fan/air filter at home. It's plenty to drown out both hotel and yard work noises. (I went from a hotel at the beginning of my trip to an airbnb that is on the edge of a golf course.)

One thing I did notice but found a work around for is that it doesn't turn on while it's plugged in... it hasn't for me any way. I simply turn it on, set the sound and time, and then plug it in. That's worked fine for me. I am not taking away any stars for this because I am appreciating this little machine so much!

I knew this thing was small when ordering but the picture in this products listing is really the actual size. The sound machine needed charging on arrival, battery was dead. It charges pretty quickly with a usb-c charger, left it on for an hour before I went back to it. To turn it on you have to hold down the power button, after it's turned on you tap the power button to cycle through the various soothing contained on the speaker, has a volume up and down button for volume control.

I was quite impressed how clean and loud the sound DreamEgg was able to produce, each sound was calming and clear. There's 4 timer settings which can be adjust with the timer button located across from the power button, 30, 90, 120, 180. I typically set it for 2 hours and leave it be to lift me off into a peaceful slumber. Not only does this take up virtually no space, you can set it anywhere and it's super easy for travel -- it runs on a rechargable battery, great for camping and overnights.

This can easily replace and bulky sound machine in your house for less clutter and more room for other things. Love it!
