Extremely easy to install you just screw it on. My hose and adapter fit great onto it. It’s a beautiful brass color and feels well made. No leakage outside of the already damaged faucet; works great.

For those that don’t know this is what these bibs are:
“prevent backflow, which is when water flows backward into the plumbing system.“

Basically a nice to have thing. I bought and put one on cause the previous owners had one and god knows why so I just matched it.

this does the job to make my illegal nyc hydrant tapping just a little less illegal! (the city requires a backflow preventer AND a permit… too bad amazon doesn’t sell those too lmaooo).

it is well made and works as advertised. it does make quite a loud honking sound when you first open the flow, if there is any air in the line. this is detrimental to my stealthy hydrant tapping, but i doubt it would matter to anyone else. otherwise, i am very satisfied.

The original one installed on my house was spurting water everywhere every time I turned the spigot off. After some research I found out this device prevents water from backflushing into the water pipe that connects with public water supply. Prevents possible contamination and is required by my local builers code. When the inside seal is broken (or tired?) the water stops flushing out at the bottom and just squirts out everywhere!

This product was great. Works as it is designed to work, quality material, easy to install. Best homeowner solve this year!

Stopped my hose bib from doubling as a kids water park.

It created a load humming noise and vibration when the hose bite was turned on.
The product has no return policy as I found out.
Purchased on August 26th, return closed on August 26th before I even received the back flow preventer.
I’m a steam and pipe fitter with 35 years experience and owned my own corporation so I know what I’m talking about.

Backflow Preventer to prevent external, contaminated water from re-entering home Potable Supply.
Attached to any bib with Garden Hose Connector (3/4" threading).

Body is brass, and sturdy, although with a rough finish.

Has black, plastic torque sleeve for easy (hand) tightening of device to hose bib.

Operates by a plastic "door" that pushes forward to let out home pressurized water (20-70 psi). When water is turned off, "door" retracts back by a spring. If external hose water is flow reversed, it cannot re-enter your home supply because the "door" is closed, and leaks out via relief holes. A spring loaded trap door is the common design of any back-flow preventer device.

In my setup, I have 70 psi on my outdoor faucet (mainly for car washing), there is a squeal sound when water is flowing. It's not lawn mower loud, but you can hear it 20 feet it away. A poster lubed the Breaker, but the squeal doesn't bother me enough to take the trouble to do it.

The device comes with a setscrew with a barrel that breaks off when tightening at the bib; I recommend you DON'T use it because if the spring in the device is broken (or rusted), the device needs to be removed, but it is "locked" to the bib thread by the setscrew that cannot be removed. Trying to twist off the device with the setscrew in place will destroy the bib threading.
