This book was so good. From start to finish. Cane and June. What an adorable little read. June has waited 5 years from confront and talk to Cane. What she has to tell him is more shocking than even he expected. Will lies and five years apart tear them down or will they get a second chance?

I devoured this book! Cane's story had me feeling all the feelings with everything he and June had to go through, but it was such a wonderful storyline!
I can't wait to read Hayle's story next!!!

As with the other book sin the series, Secrets on the Mountain is a short story about how a mountain man from Moonshine Ridge finds his woman. This is Hurricane Harts' story. You can read it as a stand alone, but regardless first click on the link at the begin of the book for a Bonus Prequel.

After both his father and grandfather were killed in an accident, Cane thought that his brother Hayle was going to help what remained of the family, so he could accept his football scholarship. Five years later he returns to home after Hayle took off, not to help them out as they believe, but licking his wounds because of something that happened while he was gone, a secret that he is not planning to share with any of his family, until someone from his past tracks him down. He was lied to, lost 5 years that he can never get back and he will have his revenge. Amiable characters, banter and true love.

Secrets on the Mountain: The Hart Family of Moonshine Ridge is the sixteenth book in the Moonshine Ridge Mountain Men series. Once again I have fallen in love with another couple from this wonderful mountain. This time we get to find out about just why Hurricane "Cane" Hart came back to the mountain and took over the running of the family camp, Hart's Gulch Gold Camp. But we also get to meet the woman who stole his heart, June, and a little surprise that looks just like him, Donner. I will advice that you read the 2 bonus scenes, one before reading this book and the other is a bonus epilogue that you don't want to miss. I can't express just how much I fell in love with Cane, Junie and Donner. These two have fallen hard for each other six years ago when he was playing professional football and she was a college student. They met one night and that was it for both of them. But when he was injured and needed surgery his agent gave permission to give him opioids, even though Cane had not. Cane ended up needing to go to an addiction recovery place so he could get off them. At that time Cane told his agent he was through and quitting the team. His agent then told lies to both June and Cane which ended up with them being split apart. Now it is six years later and June needs Cane's signature on legal paperwork. But what she wants is not what she is about to get....and what they all get is exactly what they need.

This was another great book by Rocklyn Ryder! Hurricane “Cane” Hart, former football star, returned home to save his family after his older brother left. Junie goes to the mountain to hunt him down. He’s been avoiding something very important to her and she’s determined to face him and force his hand. What neither of them knows is how much they still have feelings for each other. So many lies, betrayals and time has past. Cane is shocked to see a little boy that looks like him trailing behind her. So many things from five years ago comes to light, how they were kept apart, hurt feelings and manipulation. They’ll have to fight for their HEA but if there’s anything Hurricane Hart knows how to do, it’s fight for the woman and son he loves. I received an ARC and am happily leaving this review.

5 years ago, Cane Hart walked away from his professional baseball career to help his family and it cost him the woman who was the love of his life.

And now June is on Moonshine Ridge with a 4 year old son, Don, who is the image of Cane at that age. She is trying to move on with her life and that means convincing the ex who broke up with her through his agent to give up his parental rights.

Cane has other plans for his Junebug. And the entire Hart family is ready to help.

Short, super sweet but steamy mountain man second chance romance. Standalone but part of a series. HEA, no cheating.

Oh, the treachery! But once Cane and June figured it out, they didn't waste any more time or angst. They focused on what was important - cue the smexy swoon! I thoroughly enjoyed the depth and complexity Ms. Ryder packed into this short read, and the way the bad guy was handled. I've enjoyed every book I've read from this author, I highly recommend her catalog!
