I wanted a 40 ounce bottle that could fit into my carry bag. This one is nice, but it's too fat to fit into my 2013 Honda's cup holder. It does, however, fit into my husband's newer model cup holder. It's a great size, very well made compared to a lot of other drink bottles. I take mine everywhere.

I am someone who hates change. I've been using the same style of Contigo water bottle for nearly a decade now. When it came time to replace the old one, I found this model had some significant updates, so I was very hesitant to get the updated version. I actually like the updates. My old bottle leaked something fierce, even when I first bought it. This one does not leak at all. Even rolling around on the passenger side floor of my car. It's also nice to be able to snap the handle flat to the top. Overall, still my favorite water bottle.

I drink a LOT of water (well over a gallon a day), so my wants with a hydration bottle aren't so much oriented toward "something I'll actually use, and frequently," but more "something I don't have to refill 10 times a day," and this bottle fits that really well. The plastic is sturdy, the silicon is shaped well and functional, and at forty ounces I only have to fill it four times a day.

The only reason I've subtracted a star is because the straw isn't very well designed. (But it was easy to correct; see below.) The straw is thick plastic, and wide, so that part's great. But it is centered in the bottle, and the bottom of the bottle has an inverted dimple pushing up into the space, so the straw tens to click into place directly over that raised dimple, which messes with the suction.

(To fix this, I just grabbed my utility saw and sawed off about 1/8th of an inch. I initially tried to use heavy kitchen shears, but the straw is just too sturdy. Anyway, it's very nearly a perfect bottle now, and if the straw had come 1/8th of an inch shorter, I'd give it five stars.)

I love this water bottle. Easy to hold, quick opening and no leaks. The draw on the straw is so smooth it’s easy to keep hydrated. Only problem is my daughter will walk by and drink all of it and I have to refill it before I can drink any! If you’re listening, Contigo, the only thing that could make this better is a quick remove cap so I could fill it faster!

Loved it for 6 months before it broke. It seems to be an issue with the seal not allowing me to suck up water. Reached out to support with company and still haven’t heard back. Left disappointed.
