At the heart of this mini-PC is the Ryzen 7 7735HS processor with 8 cores / 16 threads, built in RDNA3 680M graphics, and 32GB high-speed ram (DDR5-4800). The CPU has a base clock of 3.2 GHz and a boost clock up to 4.75 GHz. The mini-PC comes with a 512GB NVMe SSD storage that can be easily expanded by adding a 2.5” SATA drive. It took me all of 5 minutes to add a 1TB SSD to my system, it is super easy thanks to the magnetically held on side panel. I’ve owned a few small form factor PCs, and this is by far the easiest to get access to the internal parts of the PC. Other specifications for this mini-PC include a 2.5Gbit RJ45 LAN port, 2 x HDMI 2.0 ports, 1 x USB Type-C Port (USB 4), 4 x USB 3.0 ports, and one audio-in/out jack. The USB Type-C Port can be used to drive a third monitor if you wanted that kind of setup.
For wireless connectivity the PC has built in 2.4/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2. The WiFi 6 worked great too; with my WiFi 6 router, I was seeing transfer speeds around 877 Mbps in the same room and around 425 Mbps two rooms over about 25 ft away through two walls.
The build quality of this computer is awesome. If feels very solid when you hold it in your hands and I also love how it looks with its RGB lighting effects on the top as well. The PC comes with software to set several different effects for the RGB lights, such as “Rainbow”, “Breathing”, or “Color Cycle”; it can also be disabled with the software if you don’t want any RBG lighting at all. The physical dimensions for the AM08 Pro are 7.5” tall, 6” long, and about 2.75” wide.
What sets this mini-PC apart from others is the performance dial on top of the case. The dial has three settings, Silent, Auto, and Performance. In the silent mode the PC is whisper quiet and while running a graphics benchmark consumes about 45W of power. In Auto mode, the power jumps up to 60W under load which is a balance between fan noise and performance. If you set the dial to Performance, you get the absolute best performance in games and the power maxes out around 75W. I ran some game benchmarks at 1080p default settings in Performance mode and below is what I got.

As you can see from the benchmarks, the AM08 Pro’s performance is extremely impressive and it will easily work as a 1080p gaming machine. If you in the market for a mini-PC, you really can’t go wrong with the AM08 Pro.
