After five years, my ORBI RB50 wifi network suddenly failed -- slow speeds, lost connectivity to the internet. This was delivered on the same day as I ordered it, and the setup was as easy as it looked on the video. The installation took less than half an hour, with most of the time devoted to rebooting my modem and placing the two satellites around the house. Be prepared, though, for going through the hassle of getting your printers on the new wifi network (HP's HPSmart app is not very smart) and doing a factory reset on your Google home speaker and other devices. But installing Eero 6 successfully was a breeze, and the signal strength throughout the house is fantastic. I had never heard of Eero until I read the Wirecutter review - this was a good choice. I didn't rate the tech support because I didn't need it -- the installation process worked well.

I will try and make this review as simple as possible. If your in the market for a router, or maybe you don’t even think you NEED new router but wish the Wi-Fi in your home was a little better…. Look no further! The eero system is hands down the best setup for Wi-Fi coverage I have ever experienced.
Just for a little perspective…. I have Spectrum Ultra Internet which offers speeds up to 400mb per second. Usually those types of speeds require a hardwired connection through Ethernet. I have a two story home, big family, and we usually have approx 25 devices connected to Wi-Fi at all times. With the equipment that Spectrum provides and this many connections, usually my download speeds are somewhere around 25mb/s. That has always been the norm. I have tried relocating my modem and router to different locations throughout the house to get better coverage, better speeds, but nothing usually works. Recently I moved my modem and router upstairs, set it on the floor, which is centralized for the home, but was completely frustrated with the speeds downstairs, so I started looking for different options.
I purchased (then returned) multiple different brands of Wi-Fi extenders, power line extenders, all to no avail.
Through some extensive YouTube reviewing, I decided to try eero 6. This set this I purchased came with the hub or “router” that is plugged in next to my modem upstairs and two extenders that just get plugged into power that I put downstairs. I put one extender in my kitchen, then the other in the master bedroom which are on opposite sides of the house. The set up was extremely simple and I had everything set up and ready to go in maybe 10 minutes. I cannot stress enough how simple the process was. (Note: make sure you have a smart device like a phone with good cell service when setting up cause you have to set up an account through the eero app and I had already disconnected my old router when I realized I needed to do this. If I hadn’t have had cell service, this would have made the process a little more difficult!)

Anyways, the end result…. BLAZING speeds throughout the house on Wi-Fi and in every corner, the garage, out back on the patio, everywhere!
Upstairs is getting close to 500mb/s on Wi-Fi, downstairs, in the furthest corner, behind walls and doors, I still get 200mb/s.
There is no video lag, spinning circles, on any of my devices, anywhere in the home!
This is simply the best Wi-Fi setup anyone could ask for! Well worth every penny I invested!!

I tried to set up an extender on my T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway located at a second floor window in a bedroom over the garage well away from our living area. This being the only location that gets a decent signal at our townhouse. The instructions included pressing the WPS button on the router; the first problem was the T-Mobile Home Internet Gateway has no WPS button. I could find no applicable directions for the device on You Tube or elsewhere that made sense. After a diligent search and some futile tries I reached a technical support agent. The English language challenged agent finally got my email correct and sent instructions. I have a doctor's degree and am a retired university Professor, unfortunately not in computer engineering. Like the directions that came with the device, the sent instructions were unintelligible. I gave up and returned the extender to Amazon. I then went by Best Buy to see alternatives. A clerk recommended the Amazon Eero 6 mesh system as good and easy to install. To my surprise I downloaded the app and set up the system in no more than 15 minutes on the first try, no buttons to push! Downstairs in my 2,400 square foot townhouse the new speeds are well over three times what they were and all my devices (including three outside security cameras) work flawlessly. Tonight we even watched streaming TV without any buffering which was awful before. I could not rate technical support because I did not need any!
