5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bag

Usually do not write reviews. Wow, was I surprised. Made extremely well. Plenty of room for a Nikon ZF with a lens and room for 2 other lensed, including a 24-200mm lens or another lens and flash. Big bang for your buck. May not be as nice as a Billingham. However, it is just as good for protection and a fraction of the cost.

5.0 out of 5 stars For $20, it can't be beat

I very rarely give five star reviews ... and very rarely give a higher rating just because something was cheap (usually cheap means it'll be kinda crappy in some areas which means something is NOT perfect and NOT deserving of five stars) but this bag has it all and it doesn't feel like junk.

I'm not exactly sure how Amazon is able to sell this at such a cheap price and not have it be total garbage but they do.

It has tons of pockets, crevices, and spaces to store your gear. It's lightweight, padded well, and can stand up to a little rain. It keeps everything snug and keeps the gear inside protected from the less than ideal conditions of a rig truck or being on a set.

I am planning to get a second camera and when I do, I'll get one of these bags to match it.

For $20 you can't go wrong. If I paid $60 for it I likely still would've been happy with it. This is probably the best $20 I've ever spent on an Amazon Basics product. It didn't catch on fire, it didn't short out after a few weeks, it doesn't feel cheap, and it doesn't look awful. Amazon got it right with this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great bag, decent size, terrible strap
Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2014
I've been using this bag for a few months now, and use it to carry my Canon Powershot SX50 camera (and the SX40 before that.) It's well made, and the detachable velcro compartment separators work great. I also carry a tablet, several spare batteries, a table-top tripod, and a 'travel' tripod, as well as a remote shutter release and extension cable. It fits all of this stuff easily, and I'm also able to stuff a light jacket in as well, so I'm covered if it gets cool out.

What I don't like about this bag is the shoulder strap and the tripod straps. The tripod straps are simply too small, even for my travel tripod, which requires me to place 2 of the 3 legs into the straps, and then I have to use an additional velcro strap that I added to one of the tripod's legs in order to keep the 3rd leg secured. The pad on the shoulder strap is curved, which at first seemed like a good idea, however after a couple of months of usage, it's become apparent that it was actually a bad idea. The reason I say it was a bad idea is because it is causing the strap to 'bunch up' within the pad, right where the curve is, which is now causing the strap to put more pressure on a smaller section of my shoulder as opposed to distributing the weight evenly across the pad. On top of that, the nylon clips on the strap squeak like nobody's business (my wife has actually taken to calling me "Squeaky" because of the noise it makes.) In any case, I ordered a new strap that has a straight pad on it and metal clips, so I'm hoping that will alleviate both the squeaking and the way the strap bunches up within the pad. If it weren't for the shoulder strap and the way-too-short tripod straps, this bag could have easily earned a 5 star rating from me, but I had to knock a star off because of those issues.

Pros - Decently sized bag, with good padding and internal velcro compartment dividers that can be rearranged to suit the equipment you're carrying. A padded pocket inside, that is useful for carrying a small tablet. Lots of pockets and compartments to hold your additional memory cards, cables and other accessories.

Cons - Curve in the shoulder strap's pad causes the strap to 'bunch up' within the pad after some usage. The nylon clips used to attach the strap to the bag are very noisy, and the squeak has not gotten any better after several months of use (in fact, it gets worse if you add more weight to the bag.) Straps for tripod are way too short, and are actually better suited to a monopod.

Edit on May 3, 2014 - I purchased a new strap to replace the one that came with this bag. The strap I purchased is Clip On Travel Strap, which has metal clips (so there is no longer any squeaking), and the shoulder pad is sewn into the strap, so it doesn't slide around nor does it bunch up anywhere, since it doesn't have a bend in it. I also purchased some velcro straps Velcro Velstrap Cinch Straps, 18 x 1 Inches, Black, 2 Pack (90107) that I worked into the tripod strap clips, and now use those to secure my tripod. These work much better than the tripod straps that are already on the bag, if you're using a full size tripod that won't fit into the existing straps.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Find

I've just bought a new bridge camera to replace my venerable Canon SX40hs. I bought a Panasonic Lumix FZ2500, a very large bridge camera weighing almost 1 kg, with a 1" sensor. As a result I've completely re-outfitted. I've replaced my 30+ year old Manfrotto Bogen Tripod, which weighed a ton, I've had to buy new filters, remote shutter release, intervalometer, etc. The large Canon camera bag wasn't large enough to properly hold the Panasonic.

I chose this bag initially because of the crossbody carry feature and copious reviews. The bag is well-thought out. It's well padded with 4 inserts with velcro, so it can be configured as needed. I'm using 2 of the inserts. The velcro holds them very firmly. The Amazon Basics camera bag is wide enough to hold the Panasonic, unlike the Canon bag. As you can see from the photo, I've got the Lumix sitting sideways. The walls of the bag and inserts are holding it firmly. I have the huge lens hood to the left, my special super macros lens is on the right. There's a nice place to store manuals towards the back. The lid has a zippered storage area. I've chosen to store an SD card holder with spare SD cards, all of my filters including a solar filter for photographing the Sun. The front of the bag has a zippered pocket. It holds my wired remote shutter release, and wireless shutter release, and intervalometer. Each end of the bag has zippered storage compartments. I have 2 double battery chargers in one and 4 spare batteries in the other. Even with all these things, there's room for more. I received delivery of my Neewer 4-way macro focusing rail this afternoon and it fits over the other things in the main compartment.

That's a lot of stuff! There's a strap on the front bottom to accommodate a tripod. I bought a Neewer carbon fiber tripod, which comes in a nice bag. I've strapped it under the front buckles that hols the top down. The bag has all of my equipment in it. I can just grab it abs go.

The inside, which holds the camera, has a separate zippered top with double pulls. There's also an additional too, which closes over the zippered equipment area, closing completely around the case. It's held by velcro and 2 buckled straps. This will keep the rain and dust out of the case. These are the 2 buckled straps holding the full sized 66" tripod in its bag, as pictured.

I honestly didn't expect as much as I got in the Amazon Basics bag. It's an amazing value to be sure, but most importantly, I know my camera and equipment are well protected.
