Bike tire not holding air. Bought a new setup (rim tape, tube, and tire), but also got some slime. I figured before I replace everything, maybe some slime would help. Used a dollar or two worth of the bottle and while it’s not 100%, it’s so much better than before and has helped me get a few more seasons out of the tire before replacement. If you hardly use it, still worth the money. If you’ll use a lot of it, buy the gallon which has a pump to force the slime in, better than squeezing bottle.
A couple things to note, if you don’t already know. This is for tube and tubeless tires. Works best (and really only) if you have a pump or compressor handy. It’s meant for temporary fixes - 60 miles on auto tire I believe. Works only if the damage is in the tread and is not severe. Can dry up after 2years. Some auto places won’t touch a tire if they know slime has been used.
Good luck with your slime endeavor.

If tire is on car make sure valve stem is pointing up. All air is expelled, some wrote trouble getting in tire, make sure u have a good valve stem remover the one with the can is plastic and may not be stiff enough to remve valve, I followed instructions and drove 5 miles and no lose of air, next morning it was down 10 psi, did errands most of the day, next morning and every time I used the car down about 10 psi, took a long drive 90 miles both ways and has not Lost any air for over a week mine was a slow leak getting worse, I plugged the tire a year ago and then recently it started losing air again so I used slime instead of replacing tire lot of life left on tread. I don't see how it will work for 1/4 inch hole unless it had temp. plug first or leave the bolt in and use slime until a proper repair, just my view, ill be carrying extra slime in my cars though, the donuts they have are junk, some auto's dont have any spare???? Just my views.

I did not want to go through sending my Deere lawn tractor front tire out to be fixed, or to try installing a tube. Tire is tubeless. This Slime worked perfectly to seal the tire. It has been about a month since the fix and the tire has not lost any air. Previously, it would need more air every 3-4 days and was becoming a major pain. I used about half the bottle for this small tire.

After trying another brand that is supposed to work while the tire is inflated and having that fail, I decided to try the Slime brand which I have used before on the tires of my lawn tractor.

I followed the directions on the can which include completely deflating the tire. I put a block under the frame to prevent the weight of the truck from crushing the tire then used the valve stem core remover that is built into the cap to remove the valve stem core - which worked well. Getting the Slime into the tire is easy enough although it does take some hand strength to squeeze the bottle to get the contents into the tire. I ended up with a good amount left in the bottle and I have fairly strong hands, however, more than enough goes into the tire. After reinserting the valve stem core I drove the truck for about 10 minutes. That was about two months ago and since then the tire seems to be holding air just fine. Prior to using the Slime I was having to top off the tire about once a week.

I am not sure Slime should be billed as for "emergency" repairs though. Since you need to completely deflate the tire to use Slime, unless you have a tire inflator in your vehicle along with the bottle of Slime, it will not help if you have a flat tire or slow leak on the side of the road.

In the end, and based on how I used it, I have no problem recommending Slime for fixing slow leaks.

The only thing is that sometimes,I have to add some water to it, because it gets thicker, if I don't use it fast enough .

I needed to fix a slow leak on my mower and wheel barrel. This stuff worked great on both. Since the tires were so small one container worked for both. Easier than added an inner tube or taking it to a shop for repair. I will buy another just to keep on hand.
