4.0 out of 5 stars It’s Ok

The controllers had no problem connecting to my PlayStation 3 slim. It’s just that the controller is very cheap and plastic but it’s better than nothing. It was actually shipped a couple hours early, so that was good

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful and works good

These came new and works well. It was an easy connection and the remote works. The buttons are a bit slower to respond but over all I am happy with this purchase. There is no symbols but I am a long time player so my mind has them memorized. Easy to adjust if you need to remember the symbols, just draw them in.

3.0 out of 5 stars Would get OEM, too many cons to pros
Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2023
Pros:
Charges fine regarding time frame, seems equivalent time to charge. See cons list for charging...qualms.

Connection is fine as well once successful. Buttons all do what they're supposed to do. Joysticks are slow - See cons as well for downfall of connection time and controller action.

Cons:
For Call of Duty (only game I really play with the kids - different CoDs as well) the joysticks are substantially different. Either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. Almost like it goes from a 2 to a 5 in reaction time. Regular OEM controllers work as they should on movement and reaction so it's not user error. Also have had other friends say they had the same issue while playing with them.

Charging is fine but the one annoyance is when unplugging or turning off the system the controllers always try to turn it back on like the PS button is pushed. For example, the controller is charging while playing. Use another controller to shut the system down like normal. Instead of the charging for the controller just stopping the controller turns on and turns the system back on every time. Super annoying to have to use these controllers to turn off the system or unplug them, wait for them to connect which takes longer than OEM controllers, and then try to turn off the system like normal.

Bought these mainly to have a spare for my 4 yr old to play with while we use the good ones. He doesn't even like it as he notices it moves weird. I love the no symbols (all blacked out) controller look but he also doesn't like that.

These are fine to be abused by a little kid but for actual use I'd look elsewhere or just buy OEM. I missed my return window as we didn't use these for a while and then discovered the issue too late.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth your time

I was hoping for low-quality controllers that we could use for some multi-player GT5, MX vs ATV, etc... on my PS3. Unfortunately, the analog control sticks(steering input) work SO poorly that these controllers simply CAN NOT BE USED FOR GAMES THAT REQUIRE STEERING INPUT. It's THAT bad! Leaning a motorcycle left and right on "MX vs ATV" is the most definitive scenario for showcasing the presence or absence of quality analog steering input. On our system, we can even detect whether or not the TV's game mode is on/off here. The motorcycle steers "heavy", like a real bike, and large steering movements result in a large weight shift with a slow return-to-center. The game requires higher steering input sensitivity for this reason to avoid those large steering inputs. This controller will only generate a Large steering input. More precisely, a 2-stage 50% and 100% input. Other reviewers interpret this as "lag", and I get it. But what's really happening is better described as a 50% dead-zone with a 2 point binary input. It's bad. Real bad.
I gave this review 1 star, and I mean 1 star. Not zero. The controller syncs-up nicely, takes a charge, and is entirely capable of operating the PS3 menu screen. It's very possible that you don't even game on your PS3, but rather use your PS3 as a Blu-ray player or some other multimedia device. This controller is entirely adequate for these tasks, and a bargain for the user who just needs a "remote control" for the system.
