Pro: Installing a key bar from my broken remote, in place of the one it came with, this remote worked for me the very first time.
Con: It was extremely difficult to install the key bar from my broken remote. Not because of this remote, but because of my broken one. I had to almost force the bar out of my old remote; I didn't want to use a locksmith with this key. My old remote was so stuck together that it took me close to 1/2 hour to pry that key out.
This process is better left to professionals.
The key is a little too wide for this remote. I made some mistake when assembling my old key bar on this remote, so its key button only locks when it's fully extended, whereas the original key lock both when extended and retracted. In addition, I couldn't wind up the spring enough that it would extend the key when pressed.
Like I said, without a special rig to get this part right, it's better to at least seek help with that.
In any case, it still works well enough that I'll keep it that way. I have no complaint at all about the remote itself; my car recognized it right away, and it's been working without any issues. I expect that to be the case until the battery runs out, then I'll just replace the battery.
