I enjoyed the pairing of Ali's and Joanna's teams in this novella but realize I would now prefer the story in a full length novel. Yes, there were a few editing errors pointed out that involved missing or repeated words (of, the,). Honestly, the only one that caught my attention was stating the victim's body had bullet wounds that entered the left side of his body that were fired through the "passenger" window. I knew it should have said the "driver side" and simply moved on reading.
Heck, edit errors happen. In my opinion, there is no one more meticulous than J.A. Jance when it comes to the English language. Snuggle up for a quick and enjoyable read. You can't beat the price!

About this item
For the first time ever, Ali Reynolds and Joanna Brady, New York Times bestselling author J.A. Jance’s popular series sleuths, join forces to solve a terrifying crime in this exclusive enovella that has everything you want in a thriller—page-turning action, breathtaking twists and turns, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and…Legos.
“A semi’s gone over the embankment.” The call wakes Sheriff Joanna Brady in the middle of the night, but what brings her fully alert is the rest of the story. The driver didn’t drift off to sleep and cross the center line—he was shot, multiple times, by someone with serious firepower. And when the truck crashed through the guardrail, its payload wound up scattered all over the road—boxes upon boxes of Legos.
Legos that are being tracked by B. Simpson’s security firm to reduce black market sales—and Ali Reynolds is just the woman to get to the bottom of the crime. She has the tech and the intel to follow the money (or, in this case, the Legos), which makes her a valuable asset to Joanna’s team. Soon these two strong women realize that they’re not just sharing a case, they’re kindred spirits—which is paramount, because the killer they’re up against is anything but child’s play.

J.A. Jances' individual series with Sheriff Joanna Brady and Ali Reynolds meet in NO HONOR AMONG THIEVES for the first time, is as fantastic as their own adventures!
I seriously love all of her work. Whether we're in Arizona with the two ladies in their separate cities or detecting murders in Seattle, Washington with Detective J. P. Beaumont! His various partners including his third wife, Detective Mel Soames, I never get tired of trying to figure out who the bad guys are.
These are. ...you have to read them all. Believe me, you will be missing out on a lot of enjoyment, suspense, thrills, action and humor. Just saying.
This is once again; Angel M. James wishing you Very happy reading!

I love her characters as much as the plot

Her characters are almost like old friends by now. You read what they are saying and doing and you hope they will be able to get the job done safely and make it home OK.
B, and Stu and everyone behind the scenes is well written and plausible.
The ending of this book is especially sweet.

CD no good, story excellent

The book is excellent like all J.A. Jance books. I gave it three stars because the CD was no good. It quit working a few chapters in. Unfortunately, we were passed the return window. Hope the other two work.

To me it's a Joanna Brady novella. About Number 15.75 in the Brady series.

A truck crash is reported to Sheriff Joanna Brady, but the driver didn’t fall asleep. He was shot.
Ali Reynolds is tracking stolen Legos.
The truck scattered hundreds of boxes of Legos when it crashed through the guardrail. And that is how Joanna & Ali ended up working together in this novella.
All I had to see were the words Joanna Brady and J.A. Jance along with a sale price and two nanoseconds later the novella was mine. I am unashamedly hooked on the Joanna Brady series. You’ll note that I listed Joanna first in the series and honestly, to me, the story involved Joanna more than it did Ali. This title isn’t even listed in the Joanna Brady series, but I would put it as 15.75 — just before Book 16, Remains of the Innocent. It is the first novella that combines the two series.
While only 70 pages, No Honor Among Thieves is packed with action. If you are wondering about stealing Legos, have you purchased any lately? Especially, the large sets. So, yeah — they’re worth stealing.
Recommendation: Do not make this your first book of either series. I have read only one Ali Reynolds book and that was years ago. But I know, as a Joann Brady fan, that a reader won’t get many of the nuances if you haven’t read at least a couple of series. I’ll admit that this novella is for Joanna and/or Ali series fans. For me, it’s still a five-star read.

Fun read......red-headed bombshell and the blonde dynamite.... meet for first time
Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2016
Wow! What a novel idea...having the red-headed bombshell, Sheriff Joanna Brady, along with the dynamite, tall blonde super amateur sleuth, Ali Reynolds, together solving crime. The introduction of Cami, the female computer virtuoso adds a bit of spice also.
A truck crashes and the driver is dead. Enters, Sheriff Brady. It is quickly determined the crash is no accident. The dead driver, and the truck have been riddled with a bombardment of bullets from an automatic weapon. Wait! The upended cargo was a truck load of Legos. Yep, those plastic puzzle building pieces made for kids, but confiscated by adults! Now, that must be a first. Wait, the varying pieces of plastic are scattered hither and yon all over the crash site. Interesting volunteers to the rescue for clean-up detail may be a bit stiff in the joints, but they will get the job done and leave the police to carry on with the investigation of the crime scene.
Ali Reynold's hubby, B. is the owner of High Noon Enterprises, a sophisticated security consulting firm, and the company recently hired by Legos manufactures to find several missing shipments. B. sends Ali to see if she can collect info that will aid in the investigation of the missing kid's toys.
The two high-octane personalities, Ali and Joanna, meet for the first time…..and it is not instant friendship! They do work well together; however, the two characters personalities are not very well developed in this novella. If the reader is not already acquainted with these two characters, a feeling of “blah” may come across.
I felt this was a hurry up and let's get something published kind of endeavor on the part of Ms. Jance. The storyline was such that this could have been a full-fledged novel. It was; however, an interesting read even though it was not highly suspenseful. Hopefully, the two may team up for further crime reduction in the future. At least, the ending lets us know something of what the future holds for Sheriff Brady.
