5.0 out of 5 stars incredible game

I played Luigi's Mansion when it was released on GameCube (2001) and I fell in love with the game due the idea of the game, the gameplay and graphics. Luigi's Mansion 3 for Switch was exactly the same. When Luigi's Mansion 2 HD was announced, I had to buy it, since it was released for Nintendo 3DS (2013). I wish Nintendo bring back the GameCube version for Switch. The game keeps the ideas of the original game and better graphics than Nintendo 3DS version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better graphics but same as the original—which is good

The HD version for Switch is an upgraded port of the 3DS version of Liuigi’s Mansion 2. To me, this is the best game in the series, and this is the best graphical representation of it.

But nothing has been updated, so one star deducted.

It's pretty much exactly like the old one but, slightly better graphics not much else has changed. It's been forever since i last played. Unfortunately i lost my 3DS when i had moved a couple of years ago..SO when i found out from a friend that they were releasing LM:DM on switch, i was so excited and immediately started looking where to buy! it came in way earlier than expected and i saved like 10$ :D (still cost quite a bit but thats switch games for you lol) i think it was (imo) definitely worth it! brings back memories from the good ol days when i was younger ^^

3.0 out of 5 stars HD Dark Moon Port
Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2024
Direct port of the 3ds game; ‘Luigi’s Mansion Dark Moon’ with upscaled graphics, resolution and lighting

More of a filter. Not built form the ground up like Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario Thousand Year Door, or Zelda Link’s Awakening. They didn't even make the effort to make the graphics look similar to Luigi Mansion 3

No gameplay changes, quality of life changes, or any new modes/levels/bosses

No new check points, auto saves. Makes the boss rush ending level really annoying

Still have stereo sound. No changes in soundtrack

Map on bottom screen and stereoscopic 3D is not transferred over due to hardware limitations of the Nintendo Switch

Do you have the the right thumb stick this time around. Makes the game less tanky (tank controls), but not as smooth as Luigi’s Mansion 3. The free movement of right thumb stick makes it more difficult compared to upwards auto lock-on to enemies

Overall very low effort remake (if you want to call it that). If you haven’t played Luigi’s Mansion 3 yet, I’d skip this game go straight to that one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handheld Classic Ported to Switch
Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2024
It's amazing how the negative reviews on here all complain about a lack of extra content. Why would you think there would be any? Nintendo announced that this would be the original game, upscaled to HD, and... that's it. That's exactly what we got. Apparently some people thought they were obligated to more than that. Ah well. It's still a great game, though, and highly recommended, especially if you never got a chance to play the original.
